[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.
Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?
But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.
They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]
Uh, excuse me?
[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.
What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...
Hi, sexy food havers.
Restaurants are also not safe. ]

[ Red may or may not really get this thing already. Either way he, with maybe the head of one of his pokémon peeking at the side, will be looking at the book in bewilderment. ]
Uh... Hello?
[ A+ work, Red. ]

Uh... Hello?
[ A+ work, Red. ]

I know, it sounds strange. This place is not where you were when you last remember, right?
no subject
We were in Fuschia City look around... there was a Safari with all kinds of different pokémon there... there were a lot of trees there, but...
[He looks down. Sure there were trees, but this wasn't the Safari Zone, and he couldn't paint it that way either. Even if he did, there were still the other oddities. Yet even while they existed, thinking of the place as a "world between worlds" was a little too out there for the boy at the moment. So he wasn't going to try.
Red looks at her again, a frown on his lips.] But what are we here for? We were gonna take on the gym; we weren't doing anything-
[He stops suddenly, his eyes widening. He looks around once more, this time with more emergency, and then quickly stands back up onto his feet.]
Did you see any other pokémon on the way here? --Any you've never seen before?
[That's a desperation in his voice. He remembers her saying something about being attracted by the smell of his companion- Saur, most likely. But maybe-]
no subject
None of us were doing anything bad, young man. It's happenstance that brought you here. And for that I am truly sorry. All I can say is that you're far, far from Fuschia City and this Safari of yours.
[One hand reaches up, stroking her chin for a moment, and she shakes her head in the negative once more. She wishes she had some positive news for him, but it's just not happening right now.]
And I'm afraid not. Until I met you, I'd never heard of pokemon before. I take it they're common in your world, but not in mine. I'd like to learn more about them, though, in time. And, I'd like to know your name, if you're willing to share it.
[Friendly introductions might help, she thinks, and a curiosity in his creatures. Admittedly, it's a genuine one, too. But one that can wait.]
no subject
It doesn't please him to hear that they haven't been seen, but Red trusts enough that she isn't the reason they're not there in the first place, and he can't blame her for just anything simply because she's there. As much of a stranger as she is, and as frustrated as his heart feels right now, that's dumb and uncool, and he has to think rationally. And clearly, too.
He's got a question from her he should answer as well.]
I'm Red. Pokémon don't always look the same. There's more than three of them. [It's the start of a explanation- but maybe, possibly, this woman did see one but doesn't realise it? But before that hopeful thought can go anywhere, doubt crushes it instantly. She'd already said she hadn't seen anything, after all.
There's a chirp however, by Red's side, that draws him away from his thoughts and the woman. It's Pikachu, looking up at him, and with Red's attention upon him he goes into some more squeaks, nodding his head and then jumping down from the road he'd been sitting on and onto the covered forest ground.]
Pikachu? You'll look for them? [The mouse pokémon nods, and then proceeds to climb his way up a nearby tree to the top of its branches.]
Be careful, okay!? [From above, there's a loud 'Pika!' in response. He will! When Red looks back to the woman, he at least looks a little happier.]
Pikachu said he's going to take a look around for them. [Not that he hadn't just said that a moment ago or anything.
Apologies to Saori for his attention not being entirely focused at this current time.]no subject
She doesn't mind. It's a weird situation. She lets him take care of the little yellow creature and send it on it's way. If it makes him happier, it makes him happier, and that's a start. She follows it with her eyes as it runs off, her lips pursed into a thin but still genuine smile.]Well, Red. It's nice to meet you then. And your companions.
[She waves a hand towards him, one finger pointing towards his little wings. It's good that he's seemingly adjusted to the changes to his anatomy so quickly, since it's something some newcomers seem to fixate on.]
If I may offer a bit of advice, take good care of your new wings. They're quite sensitive, and they are a bit of a liability. Are they hurting any? If...they are I might be able to help with that.
[It's not much, but what healing skill she has is better than nothing for pain. Even if it's rudimentary at best, that's often enough to make such things more bearable.]
no subject
They're sore... they hurt when I woke up, but they hurt even more when I tried to put my shirt on. [But-] Aren't they weird to you? I don't normally have them!
[Just then, the bulb lights.] Do you have a pair too?
[He hasn't actually seen any wings she might have, being probably more obvious to see on himself moving around than compared to how much calmer she's been.
But when Red asks that question, Saur beside him makes a low sound, nodding her head that he catches. Did she notice? But Red will wait for Saori's answer.]
no subject
Yes, I do. Everyone who comes to this world gains them, even if they do not normally have them. They won't allow you to fly, unfortunately, and avoiding injury to them is paramount to your survival. If they're removed, you will die, without fail. So please, do not try and pull them off.
[She takes a single step closer, holding out her hand.]
Come here, and I will do what I can to soothe the ache.
no subject
Thankfully, a distraction in her directions comes, and he moves closer towards her - facing her at first, but then turning around so his white wings are facing her instead.]
Like this?
Up to you if this works at all!
[She nods and reaches out for his wings, one hand extended to lay flush against the area between tender appendages. She closes her eyes in concentration, calling on the one Filial spirit she knows anything of: Nala, the healer.]
I am going to use a spell that I know, a bit of magic. You may feel a little tingly, but it should help alleviate some of the pain.
[A soft blue light emanates from her palm, lighting the forest and drawing out what pain she could. Red might feel warmer, and perhaps have the sensation of a few pinpricks along his back, and hopefully pushing away some of the aches he might be feeling. Her connection was never strong with the spirits here, but the ability was useful enough for things like this. Most of the time.
After a moment, she pulls away.]
How does that feel, Red? Any better?
no subject
Red sees Snorlax's surprise, questioning it until the sensation then comes to his wings, or to the centre of his back. It tingles, but it's the sort that comes when a dull pain begins to die down. Not instantly relieving, but when she speaks up, he begins to notice the difference. Enough to baffle him.
He turns back around, drawn to somehow attempt to look behind himself.] Ye...yeah! It's much better!
[Her looks at her, eyes wide, with both of his pokémon with their eyes on her as well.] What did you do?
[Saur takes a step closer to him, moving to his side. She doesn't think this woman means any harm, she hasn't indicated as much so far, but what just happened, though good for Red, brings out a need to be more ready and alert to be protective of him.]
no subject
Taking a step back, she flicks her wrist and the energy dissipates]
I asked one of the spirits here to help you. It agreed, and took care of your wings.
[She turns her attention to Ivysaur, still smiling. It probably deserved an explanation too, and if still smelled sweet so...she addresses it.]
Don't worry, little one. I'm not going to hurt your friend. I promise you that, on my power.
no subject
[The only type of spirits Red knew about were ghost pokémon, yet this didn't really invoke his memory on them. It's when she begins to speak to Ivysaur, that he looks between the two.
And Saur does indeed still smell sweet. It's not done intentionally, but a smell that had been wafting about more and more for close to a month. She's watching Saori, but it's not with hostility that she does. But her focus on the woman is taken away when Red drops down to her level on his knees, still with a smile on his face. He wraps his arms around her and brings her a little closer to him in the process.]
It's okay Saur! I mean it! I think we can trust her!
[She looks from Red's face, then to Saori, and after a pause gives her a nod.] Ivysaur...
[But she'll remember to walk very closely to him from now on, just in case there's any trouble to actually be found. Meanwhile, for Red, he looks back up to Saori.]
You can trust Saur too. She's my closest friend. [He glances over to Snorlax, and then removes an arm from Ivysaur to direct attention to him.] And Snorlax is my newest!
no subject
Saur and Snorlax. Quite a pair of friends, Red. I do not know what pokemon are, but they seem quite marvelous.
[She rises, looking from one to the other with a respectful inclination of her head.]
It is lovely to meet you both. I am sorry for the circumstances, but all the same.
[Her gaze flicks back to Red, curiosity warring with a warming affection for the boy.]
You say there are more of them?
no subject
For Red, it's warming to see her meet and greet with his pokémon. When she speaks to him again, he nods.]
Mm, yeah. There was- [He looks upwards, in thought-] Charmeleon, Squirtle, and Eevee. [He nods next towards the direction Pikachu had left.] And the pokémon with me was Pikachu.
[But now he has to think about this - about what she's said about her knowledge of pokémon being zilch. A puzzling but thoughtful look, Red looks at Saori.] You really don't know what a pokémon is?
no subject
Pikachu...[She mouths the name quietly, committing it to memory.
When Red speaks up again, she nods.]
No, I don't. Not...every world is the same, and I fear yours and mine are likely quite different. Are they animals? Or something else? They certainly look like animals...
no subject
[It's an odd word to say, like it's too scientific. And when you already have a good enough word to use, why say anything else? But that could be what's going on here.]
Maybe you call pokémon animals where you're from? But pokémon are everywhere! There's even more pokémon than people I bet.
no subject
[It wouldn't surprise her, to be honest.]
And I certainly agree with you there. There are far, far more animals than there are people, and thousands of different kinds, as well. If they are analogous then it stands to reason that there should be just as many pokemon. Though, animals don't generally talk, in my experience, while yours seem to at least know their names.
no subject
Oh! That's 'cause their names are what they are! Snorlax is a snorlax, and Saur is an Ivysaur. Saur used to be a bulbasaur, but I always called her Saur so much so it stuck.
Your place's pokémon must do the same. Right?
[Talk by saying their name over and over?? Even if she did just say they don't speak...]
no subject
No, they don't. Most animals make sounds, though they're more squeaks and growls or chirps, nothing quite like that. I know how to speak to a few animals, but they're...well, different. At least to me.
[She's not sure he'll really understand exactly why that is.]
Regardless of that, animals are no less varied, and each one makes a sounds that's pretty unique to them.
no subject
Hmm... lots of the sounds pokémon make all sound different too. You don't always hear their names when they talk. [Thinking about it, it can be quite varied. He then perks up.]
But when you're around them a lot, you start understanding what they're saying! [Pause.] Well, some of the time...but growls and chirps start really meaning more than just sounds when you stop and think about it.
no subject
It's the same for animals. Once you build a partnership with them, understanding them becomes easier. My dog and I have been friends her entire life, and while all she can do is bark and yip, I still know what she wants. And crows are easy enough to talk to once you put a little thought into it.
[She looks around the forest a bit more, wondering where the boy's other creature had gone.]
Your...Pikachu has been gone a while. How far did you tell it to go?
no subject
But then she brings him back to reality, and his face shifts.] Oh. [That's a good thing to point out, how long Pikachu's been gone. Moving himself up and Saur moving back in response, Red gets onto his feet.] I didn't. Hold on.
[And what else can be expected when Red raises his head upwards and begins to turn slowly on the spot-] Pikaaachu! Can you hear me!? Come back, buddy!!
[He pauses, waiting with silence filling in. But then a far off call can be heard, the familiar sound of the mouse-] Pikaaaapiiiii!
[It doesn't take more than half a minute or close to that for the rustling of tree tops above, and then Pikachu running down along the trunk of the closest one and springing out for Red to catch him. The boy does, though losing his shirt in the process.]
Pikachu! [He adjusts himself to allow the pokémon some space to breathe, but also so he can look down at him.] Didn't you find anyone?
[The pikachu's ears droop, and then he shakes his head.] Pikaaa....
no subject
Hmmm...[She muses, listening to the conversation interestedly.]
It is possible your other companions didn't come with you when you were abducted. And that just means they're safe back in your world, and they'll be waiting for you when you come back.
no subject
But he looks at Saori, when she speaks.]
You think so? [He hmms to himself, looking back at Pikachu. That wouldn't be so bad, though there's one in particular his mind is on. But if she was lost in the forest.]
I guess it's better... [He doesn't sound completely sure of that.]
And ended up napping after the interview, lawl
I know so. Your pokemon will be waiting for you, and when you get home it'll be like nothing's changed at all. I promise.
it's ok! :) naps are good
