[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.
Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?
But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.
They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]
Uh, excuse me?
[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.
What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...
Hi, sexy food havers.
Restaurants are also not safe. ]

[ Red may or may not really get this thing already. Either way he, with maybe the head of one of his pokémon peeking at the side, will be looking at the book in bewilderment. ]
Uh... Hello?
[ A+ work, Red. ]

[It's an odd word to say, like it's too scientific. And when you already have a good enough word to use, why say anything else? But that could be what's going on here.]
Maybe you call pokémon animals where you're from? But pokémon are everywhere! There's even more pokémon than people I bet.
no subject
[It wouldn't surprise her, to be honest.]
And I certainly agree with you there. There are far, far more animals than there are people, and thousands of different kinds, as well. If they are analogous then it stands to reason that there should be just as many pokemon. Though, animals don't generally talk, in my experience, while yours seem to at least know their names.
no subject
Oh! That's 'cause their names are what they are! Snorlax is a snorlax, and Saur is an Ivysaur. Saur used to be a bulbasaur, but I always called her Saur so much so it stuck.
Your place's pokémon must do the same. Right?
[Talk by saying their name over and over?? Even if she did just say they don't speak...]
no subject
No, they don't. Most animals make sounds, though they're more squeaks and growls or chirps, nothing quite like that. I know how to speak to a few animals, but they're...well, different. At least to me.
[She's not sure he'll really understand exactly why that is.]
Regardless of that, animals are no less varied, and each one makes a sounds that's pretty unique to them.
no subject
Hmm... lots of the sounds pokémon make all sound different too. You don't always hear their names when they talk. [Thinking about it, it can be quite varied. He then perks up.]
But when you're around them a lot, you start understanding what they're saying! [Pause.] Well, some of the time...but growls and chirps start really meaning more than just sounds when you stop and think about it.
no subject
It's the same for animals. Once you build a partnership with them, understanding them becomes easier. My dog and I have been friends her entire life, and while all she can do is bark and yip, I still know what she wants. And crows are easy enough to talk to once you put a little thought into it.
[She looks around the forest a bit more, wondering where the boy's other creature had gone.]
Your...Pikachu has been gone a while. How far did you tell it to go?
no subject
But then she brings him back to reality, and his face shifts.] Oh. [That's a good thing to point out, how long Pikachu's been gone. Moving himself up and Saur moving back in response, Red gets onto his feet.] I didn't. Hold on.
[And what else can be expected when Red raises his head upwards and begins to turn slowly on the spot-] Pikaaachu! Can you hear me!? Come back, buddy!!
[He pauses, waiting with silence filling in. But then a far off call can be heard, the familiar sound of the mouse-] Pikaaaapiiiii!
[It doesn't take more than half a minute or close to that for the rustling of tree tops above, and then Pikachu running down along the trunk of the closest one and springing out for Red to catch him. The boy does, though losing his shirt in the process.]
Pikachu! [He adjusts himself to allow the pokémon some space to breathe, but also so he can look down at him.] Didn't you find anyone?
[The pikachu's ears droop, and then he shakes his head.] Pikaaa....
no subject
Hmmm...[She muses, listening to the conversation interestedly.]
It is possible your other companions didn't come with you when you were abducted. And that just means they're safe back in your world, and they'll be waiting for you when you come back.
no subject
But he looks at Saori, when she speaks.]
You think so? [He hmms to himself, looking back at Pikachu. That wouldn't be so bad, though there's one in particular his mind is on. But if she was lost in the forest.]
I guess it's better... [He doesn't sound completely sure of that.]
And ended up napping after the interview, lawl
I know so. Your pokemon will be waiting for you, and when you get home it'll be like nothing's changed at all. I promise.
it's ok! :) naps are good
I don't think it's going to be just like that. The Pokémon Centre's probably going to give me an ear full for leaving them behind all of a sudden.
[He lets Pikachu go onto the ground and picks up the shirt he dropped, observing it again. He's sort of realising he's been getting carried away talking like this without one on (in front of a woman!!), and uh...]
no subject
I promise. Time...flows oddly for us here, and whenever this place allows you to leave, it'll be within a moment of your leaving. I know it sounds odd, but that's just how this place is. Best to just...not worry about it too much.
[And realizing that he's shirtless does finally click with her.]
Would you like to go into the village? You can probably find more of your clothes there.
no subject
And the subject of clothing is something to become involved in. He feels embarrassed again, but regardless of his state of upper nudity-]
Why would they be in the village?
no subject
I honestly don't know why the people who put us here do things that way. But they always show up in the village instead of with us. It's...a little bad when it's really cold out, but that's just how things are.
no subject
Hmm, well... I can still put this on for now!
[Though, how to, how to.. he thinks on it for a second, then looks to Snorlax, stepping over to him after he does.]
Hey, Snorlax! If I hold this out for you, can you put your claws through it?
[At that request, Snorlax makes a confused sound to go along with his expression. What?? But Red's already slipping a hand inside the shirt, holding the area stretched out.]
Just two, so I can wear it!
[Snorlax thinks this has to be one of the weirdest requests he's heard. Saori, do you have any input to give before the demise of Red's shirt (rip in piece)?]
no subject
Stop. If you want to add holes for your wings, allow me. No offense to your friend, but I believe I can be a bit more precise, and...probably a bit more gentle.
[Holding out a hand, she waits expectantly for him to hand over the shirt. No point in destroying perfectly good fabric!]
Give it to me, and I'll fix it up.
no subject
I'd do it, but I don't have my knife on me. Are you sure you can tear it?
no subject
I can cut it, don't worry.
[Taking the shirt, she holds it up between them and studies the boy's back for a moment, noting wing placement. And then she twitches her finger, gathering wind along the tip of it, a razor sharp blade of air. Two quick slashes later, and the deed is done. Two neat, perfect slits wide enough for his wings.]
There. All done.
no subject
And then, like that, with a movement of her finger, the sound of fabric tearing reaches his ears and his problem goes. His eyes widens and he steps closer, ready to take the shirt and see what she's done with it.]
What-- [He'll just stand flabbergasted for a second.] Was that another spirit thing!?
[Below him, Saur tries to look up to see, and Pikachu tries to do the same. He would climb up, but he know Red prefers it more when he's wearing a shirt than climbing against his skin.
But hey, Snorlax can see, and he can have a nice confuddled look on his face. How'd the lady do that??]
no subject
It was. I...suppose I won't frighten you off now by telling you what I am.
[She bends down with an amused little smile on her face, whispering almost conspiratorially. Maybe it's a bit much, but since he did guess, theatrics are called for!]
Red. I am not human. When you say 'another spirit thing' you're right. I am a Myojin means I am both a spirit and...a god.
no subject
He listens to what she says, and it takes a moment for it to (try to) sink in.]
...Wha? A god? [A pause.] Like a pokémon?
[Trying to comprehend this. What?? What?? Just let him take a step back, just so he can properly see Saori. Was she teasing him?]
no subject
I'm not a pokemon, no. Maybe there are godly pokemon in your world, but in mine...we mostly look like people.
[She holds up a palm, conjuring up a tiny little raincloud, smiling to herself as a tiny thunderbolt darts out into the air.]
I was a human once, a long, long time ago, but something changed me. I am the god of summer storms now. I know magic, which is how I was able to cut your shirt. And I have the power to change the weather as it suits me.
[Her eyes flick up to meet his, the cloud floating to a space between the two of them. Her voice softens, turning gentle and hopefully disarming.]
Does this bother you, Red? That I'm not human?
no subject
Human? Not human? Sorta human?
It's like he can't move his eyes away from the storm cloud, but he does when she speaks. And looking at her, it's like seeing somebody different. But he's only just met her, really.
Is he bothered?]
No? I... I don't know. [His eyes are drawn to the cloud again.] It's weird.
[It's very weird. But he's pulled in to it again, always a boy who's always been too curious for his own good. The step taken back is reversed as a part of him wants to see the sight closer. Saur is still by his side, though Pikachu's moved back with some caution for the electricity stored in his own body being drawn out into the air.
It's Snorlax who goes from where he stood and closer to the storm cloud, to stick out a paw to feel the tiny patter of rain.
A thought then occurs to Red.]
What you did with my wings - was that you?
no subject
Good! Because it's just a part of who I am, and I think you're a sweet boy. It doesn't make me all that different from you, really, when it comes to personality or how I feel about people. Mostly.
[When Snorlax's paw moves under the cloud, he'll definitely feel the warm, pleasant sensation of a summer rain, and the lightning stops immediately, suppressed to prevent anyone from getting a shock.]
And...no, your wings wasn't me. That was me...borrowing...something from Nala. This world has it's own spirits, beings that are willing to share their power with the people here. My own powers aren't able to heal, but she lends that to me. And you too, if you decide you want to learn.
no subject
So... you were human, but then... you weren't? Or. [No, he wants to fix saying that.] You got powers that let you make storms even though you're human?
