[ Nothing interesting on the video feed here, just a black-haired boy with his pikachu's head poking from the bottom of the screen. ]

Hi, my name's Red. I've got a couple of questions... I wanted to ask about first aid and the battle dome, and also if there's anybody that knows about fixing things? [ He looks away ] I don't have anything broken, but I wanted to have something looked at.

[ Right, anyway. Back to the screen. ]

But with the first aid... I was wondering if anyone had the time to help me see if I know what I'm doing? I got taught how to put on bandages a long time ago, but I don't think I was doing it right the last time I did it.

[ Maybe it had been fine, but a refresher would be good either way. ]

Anyway, then the battle dome - I wanted to know about what fighters train against in there. [ This was going to be hard, but ] I know people here have different abilities, and what we can handle is different too. I've tried creatures not from my world, but I guess...

[ What does he guess? He thinks, pinching his bottom lip in. ]

...I guess I just want to know if there's something better me and my pokémon can do. Everything's still challenging in the battle dome, but I want -- more? [ Um.

That sounds... bad? He fidgets, then shrugs. ] I don't know. I thought it'd be interesting to know what else we could fight on there. That's about it really.

[ Private voice to Caius (

accepted) ]

Hey, Caius. [ He pauses, trying to think of how to continue... ] You fight with a sword, right? I want to practice with you sometime, if you've got the time.

[Saori stands up and walks over to stand between the fallen simulation and the boy, looking at the creature and nudging it with a foot.]

He won't get back up. Electricity hurts them, as they were spirits of metalworking before they became tainted.

[As she says this, the oni crumbles away, leaving no trace of it ever having been there.]

What did you think?

[ He sorta wants to ask if Venusaur will be okay, but it's a simulation, so he knows he's only being overprotective. He'll get her something from his bag in a minute. For now, he touches the side of her face with a caring hand. ]

...It was different. [ And odd. He didn't really have a clear image of Saori's world, but that wasn't something he imagined. ] Those exist in your world? Leading armies?

[She snorts disdainfully and shakes her head.]

They lead nothing. They're scouts. They go ahead of an army to find where their enemies are. Lantern Oni are fast, but not particularly smart. But...they aren't something that makes it into the human world very often. Generally, they really only are found on the borders between Heaven and Hell.

[ Fast, but weak to lightning... but even though it wasn't particularly smart, it was enough to consider coming after him. ]

Do you think Pikachu could've taken it down by himself? [ But just being able to easily cripple a foe wouldn't teach them anything. ]

Actually... is there anything stronger?

Possibly. If you knew it's weakness right away, though, it wouldn't have been fun.

[She gives him a knowing look, understanding what he's asking. Something stronger?]

Yes, there are lots of stronger things. Would you like to try fighting a footsoldier instead of a scout?

[ He nods in agreement to what she first says, but then does so again to the next part. ]

I just want to heal Venusaur first. [ Even if that won't help regrow her vines, it should hopefully make her feel better. ]

Then allow me.

[Saori reaches out to touch her, gently infusing her with some of Nala's magic and calling up a small rain cloud for her to clean up a bit.]

Though, I want to warn you, the foot soldiers are bigger and stronger.

[ Oh, thanks there dude. ]

We'll do it. [ And here, he'll even let out Snorlax ready. He's been listening and awake, look at this big dude smack his fist against his hand all pumped up and ready. ] We need to get stronger.

[ Snorlax snorts; he would be a proud of his power pokémon if he didn't love food so much (j/k he's both). ]

Very well. But be warned that this will be much more difficult.

[Saori snaps her fingers and a new creature appears. It's easily three feet taller than the other, and while similar in appearance, the skin is a ruddy red like rust. And it has a long, iron club in it's clawed hand.]

Are you ready?

[ Snorlax was cocky, and once Red might've been as much as well. But he nods, taking the warning. ]

We are. [ He picks himself up, spacing himself from his pokémon for safety. Ah, but first- ]

Should I use everyone? [ He was getting more used to commanding all three at once, and it was a smart question in his head. He didn't want to underestimate Saori's caution. ]

Yes, you should.

[Saori nods and moves to stand clear, going back to her bench. This is the signal the oni had been waiting for, and it lets out an evil chuckle.]

Are you afraid, little boy?

[It's voice is gravely, like two boulders grinding together, and it takes a single stalking step forward.]

[ Like the sound of a graveler or a golem in battle, but Red won't let a taunt like that get to him.

It's too late to be afraid. ]

Saur, Pika, Snor! Poison, Electro Ball, Belly Drum and attack!

[ He gives out the commands while moving back some more, speaking them as quickly as he can. Saur moves on her feet, taking a step to the side before lowering her front to shoot out a release of a purple powder from her bulb and aimed out towards the target. At the same time as this happens, Pikachu builds up a small but condensedball of electricity the same size of his body, kicking it up in front of himself and then flipping his body, using a smack from his tail to send it flying towards the hell creature.

And Snorlax? Snorlax appears to be banging on his stomach like a drum, not moving but keeping his eye upon the enemy... ]

[The monster steps right into the poison cloud, taking a deep breath. He sneezes, but appears to be at least somewhat resistant to the stuff. Breathing in the sulfurous atmosphere of hell definitely doesn't hurt it in the resistance department. Raising it's club, it takes a swing at Venusaur, a heavy overhand chop that she'll need to dodge or be squashed.

The lightning, though, strikes it in the chest and it sizzles against it's skin, clearly hurting. The demon roars, but presses the attack!]

[ Venusaur begins to move, but she isn't alone. ]

Pika, help her!

[ Pikachu doesn't waste his time on fancy attacks. He cries out, and with it uses a thunderbolt aimed for its heads, hopefully to make it flinch enough for Venusaur to get out of the way of the attack.

And by this time, Snorlax has done with his bellying, now taking his steps towards the fight. ]

[It doesn't flinch, as it's inner focus is too great for that, but it does deflect the blow. The heavy weapon slams into the ground just beside Saur, leaving a small impact crater. It has to take a moment to tug it free of the soft earth, and that gives Snorlax more time!]

[ That works. And now's the time for Snorlax to pull his weight. ]

Giga Impact, Snor!

[ The pokémon's body glows, and he quickens his steps (for as much as that changes his pace), ready as the light engulfs him to slam into the monster with the full of his weight and power combined. The attack is one of the most powerful that Snorlax knows, intensified by the focus of belly drum. ]

[The attack slams into the oni, sending it flying backwards with a roar. It lands several yards away on it's back, struggling to it's feet, though the force of the blow did knock it's club flying with it.

Leaning on the weapon, it eyes the creatures.]

Not bad.

[And then again it attacks, this time hurling the giant weapon end over end like a missile!]

[ Giga Impact is an attack that takes an amount of focus and gathering of their strength, leaving the user usually needing a moment to gain back a second wind. It's the same for Snorlax, his breathing noticeable.

And then the monster's up, with its own wind back to it quicker. ]

Snor!

[ He wasn't oblivious to the enemy, but there's no time for him to get away. His arms go up to catch, defend, something like that, but still he's knocked back himself onto the ground, even to the same effect as the other.

Red knows the blow must've hurt with the spiked weapon, but he can't go over to him with the beast now up and his other two pokémon out on the field. He'll need to trust on Snorlax getting up himself. For now- ]

Pika, Double Team and electro ball again! Saur, Growth, and get ready for a Solar Beam!

[ Saur roars as her body appears to thicken, leaves turner greener and her flower growing wider. While that happens, Pikachu's on the move on all fours, daring to get nearest to the creature but keeping his distance. With a flicker, his body not only doubles, but triples -- and now there's three of the mouse pokémon going in a circle around him, body electrifying to build up another electric ball of electric. ]

[The demon snorts as Snorlax goes down, taking a single stride forward. He ignores Venusaur, who seems to be doing something with vines, figuring it's better to deal with the one that's actually hurt him.

His stride turns into a run and he leaps straight up into the air, slamming down into the ground not far from the little pokemon and causing a shockwave in the ground. Oni are spirits of the Earth as well as demons, so the ground around them ripples and showers of stone fly in all directions, but more prominently at Pikachu!]

[ Pikachu can at least guess what's going to happen when the oni hitting down against the ground, if not the extent of the power it unleashes. Trying to combat against such a thing had been part of their training, and the best way for the pokémon to do - at least with so little time to prepare anything else - was to curl up into a ball with a jump in the air, and try to take less of the damage that he can.

So when Pikachu hits back onto the ground, he skids -- not unharmed, but not taken out. He focuses onto the oni, snarling, before giving up on the electro ball and aiming a thunderbolt at him. It was quicker, and he could be moving on his feet right afterwards.

Over for Venusaur, the top of her flower begins to gather at its centre the power necessary for the Solar Beam. And as for the oni's original target, Snorlax, he's now on his feet, helped up with the same weapon that had pushed him down and making his way towards the oni and Pikachu with it still in his hand. ]

Be careful, Pika!

[The creature is struck by the lightning bolt, but seems to somehow shimmer, absorbing a lot of the energy. It's hair stands on end, but it only seems staggered by the attack. Three opponents...two big, one small...make it reassess the situation.

And it turns on Snorlax, rushing at it, reaching out with some of it's power and calling the weapon to it. It rips free of Snor's grasp and flies into it's hand...but this act exposes it's back to Venusaur...]

[ Red tries to tell what that attack does -- it does make the oni stagger, so it must've done something.

But there's the fact it's going after that's more of a priority now, and the way it recalls its weapon back. Snorlax just spits out a roar, and waits for it to come at him with a challenging posture, opening out his arms. He knows what Venusaur he doing, so he's going to taunt the opponent than go rushing for them --

because there's going to be a beam going straight for the monster's back, which for the strength that Snorlax knows Venusaur can push out in the attack, it may just help push forward and knock the creature to them, and he'll be ready to get his attack on then.

If it goes like that at all. ]

[Surprisingly, though, it works. The spear of light skewers the oni and sends it crashing to the ground, where it fades away into pixels.]

Very good!

[Saori claps, walking over to inspect Snorlax for any real injuries.]

Very good indeed! You found his weakness. Probably by happenstance, but energy works very well against them. At least, non-electrical energy.

[ Snorlax's hands aren't in the most best condition they could be, but he's a kind of pokémon that isn't going to grumble to mean anything other than he's fine. NO PROBLEM.

Venusaur shakes her body after the attack is gone and done, and goes to join over with the others. A little group up for the lot of them. ]

Didn't Pikachu do something? It still looked like he bothered the monster a little.

They slowly adapt to the kinds of energy presented to them. So, the first attack will bother it, but after that they'll resist more and more. They're not immune, but it doesn't phase them as well as it might.
