[ Nothing interesting on the video feed here, just a black-haired boy with his pikachu's head poking from the bottom of the screen. ]

Hi, my name's Red. I've got a couple of questions... I wanted to ask about first aid and the battle dome, and also if there's anybody that knows about fixing things? [ He looks away ] I don't have anything broken, but I wanted to have something looked at.

[ Right, anyway. Back to the screen. ]

But with the first aid... I was wondering if anyone had the time to help me see if I know what I'm doing? I got taught how to put on bandages a long time ago, but I don't think I was doing it right the last time I did it.

[ Maybe it had been fine, but a refresher would be good either way. ]

Anyway, then the battle dome - I wanted to know about what fighters train against in there. [ This was going to be hard, but ] I know people here have different abilities, and what we can handle is different too. I've tried creatures not from my world, but I guess...

[ What does he guess? He thinks, pinching his bottom lip in. ]

...I guess I just want to know if there's something better me and my pokémon can do. Everything's still challenging in the battle dome, but I want -- more? [ Um.

That sounds... bad? He fidgets, then shrugs. ] I don't know. I thought it'd be interesting to know what else we could fight on there. That's about it really.

Hey, Caius. [ He pauses, trying to think of how to continue... ] You fight with a sword, right? I want to practice with you sometime, if you've got the time.

[ Pikachu can at least guess what's going to happen when the oni hitting down against the ground, if not the extent of the power it unleashes. Trying to combat against such a thing had been part of their training, and the best way for the pokémon to do - at least with so little time to prepare anything else - was to curl up into a ball with a jump in the air, and try to take less of the damage that he can.

So when Pikachu hits back onto the ground, he skids -- not unharmed, but not taken out. He focuses onto the oni, snarling, before giving up on the electro ball and aiming a thunderbolt at him. It was quicker, and he could be moving on his feet right afterwards.

Over for Venusaur, the top of her flower begins to gather at its centre the power necessary for the Solar Beam. And as for the oni's original target, Snorlax, he's now on his feet, helped up with the same weapon that had pushed him down and making his way towards the oni and Pikachu with it still in his hand. ]

Be careful, Pika!

[The creature is struck by the lightning bolt, but seems to somehow shimmer, absorbing a lot of the energy. It's hair stands on end, but it only seems staggered by the attack. Three opponents...two big, one small...make it reassess the situation.

And it turns on Snorlax, rushing at it, reaching out with some of it's power and calling the weapon to it. It rips free of Snor's grasp and flies into it's hand...but this act exposes it's back to Venusaur...]

[ Red tries to tell what that attack does -- it does make the oni stagger, so it must've done something.

But there's the fact it's going after that's more of a priority now, and the way it recalls its weapon back. Snorlax just spits out a roar, and waits for it to come at him with a challenging posture, opening out his arms. He knows what Venusaur he doing, so he's going to taunt the opponent than go rushing for them --

because there's going to be a beam going straight for the monster's back, which for the strength that Snorlax knows Venusaur can push out in the attack, it may just help push forward and knock the creature to them, and he'll be ready to get his attack on then.

If it goes like that at all. ]

[Surprisingly, though, it works. The spear of light skewers the oni and sends it crashing to the ground, where it fades away into pixels.]

[Saori claps, walking over to inspect Snorlax for any real injuries.]

Very good indeed! You found his weakness. Probably by happenstance, but energy works very well against them. At least, non-electrical energy.

[ Snorlax's hands aren't in the most best condition they could be, but he's a kind of pokémon that isn't going to grumble to mean anything other than he's fine. NO PROBLEM.

Venusaur shakes her body after the attack is gone and done, and goes to join over with the others. A little group up for the lot of them. ]

Didn't Pikachu do something? It still looked like he bothered the monster a little.

They slowly adapt to the kinds of energy presented to them. So, the first attack will bother it, but after that they'll resist more and more. They're not immune, but it doesn't phase them as well as it might.

[ So, one being weak to electricity, and then another being weak to any energies, but turning resistant over time. Red juggles the information with some silence in his head for a while. ]

...We'll train with them more. [ The decision makes him smile confidently, look around at his team. ] We can try different tactics on them, and they're human-shaped too. [ for the most part ] It's the kind of foe we need.

Yes, yes I think it will do nicely.

[She smiles faintly and gives the Pokemon a little nod.]

And when you think they're easy, I'll show you some of the real threats my kind fight.

[ Red lowers his head in a short but appreciative bow. ] Thank you.

[ And he did appreciate it. Immensely. Anything for them all to get stronger. Actually, speaking about himself and getting stronger.. ]

I'm going to try and do more with my staff training too. I have a friend who knows how to use a sword, and he said he'd see about training with me. Or sometimes training with me anyway. [ Whenever he feels like kicking his butt, probably. ] I know you want me to and that guy to practice off each other one day, but I thought it would be good if I got to do it with others too.

Oh, I want you to practice with as many people as you can. Variety will make you stronger. I just assumed that you'd go and do that without being told...

Oh. [ Ahaha... oops. ] I thought you wanted me to try against your friend first. [ but nevermind! ] But I'll try and ask more people from now on. I think I know some more that use weapons...

[ uhhh. maybe. ]

Well if you're looking for challenges, you know you could always ask me to practice with you too, right?

[She'll do it, and be gentle.]

But no, of course I want you training with lots of people.

We can practice! [ Well, they already get together nearly each and every day anyway. Oh, but thinking about that, and looking at his pokémon... ]

Did you want to try something now? If you don't have anywhere you want to be -- but my pokémon could have a rest, and then they could train again after us.
