[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.

Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?

But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.

They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]

Uh, excuse me?

[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.

What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...

[ Red may or may not really get this thing already. Either way he, with maybe the head of one of his pokémon peeking at the side, will be looking at the book in bewilderment. ]

[There's certainly a frustration between them. Red's expression doesn't change much, but he is listening. Sorta. Kinda. He's at least trying to think about this, but it's hard not to think of these creatures as pokémon, and that attacking them is wrong despite what instincts they have.

So he tries pausing, and thinking for a second or so...]

I don't get it! [That's what he decides to settle on, huffing a little as he looks down at the ivysaur on his lap who's looking back at him.] But you get it, so I guess it doesn't matter if I do. I dunno!

[He's not entirely conceding, even if he can get that he doesn't understand - because even if he knows that his head is just too jumbled, and there's still a part of him that wants to heavily disagree. It's hard fighting against that side.]

[He's not sure what else he could say to convince Red that Spots are meant to be defeated and not captured. Maybe it's just a world thing? By the sounds of things, it's a lot easier to deal with a pokemon than it is to deal with a Spot or even a normal monster attack.]

If you saw one for yourself you'd get it then! [That would be a lot easier than trying to explain how much of a pain Spots are.] But even if you don't, there's gonna be lots of stuff you get about Pokémon and things where you're from that I won't get. [...] Stuff like how Pokémon can fit in those balls when they're so tiny.

[Definitely world differences. And while Red might've be warned about differences, that's not on his mind right now, other than the apparent ways of thinking being displayed now.

Well, and even though Caius is talking about it. Doesn't mean he can't still have a bit of a sulky face about it. (Don't worry big baby, Saur will smell pretty for you and calm you all up.)]

I dunno. [He's still mostly focusing on Saur on his lap, but glances to the journal now and then.] They turn small, then they get bigger again when you press them. I don't get how pokéballs work either.

[Wow Red, way to get your sulk on. Caius didn't mean to send him into a sulk, especially since he's new and all. He had hoped that changing things around to talk about Red's world would have helped prove some point about how it's hard to understand other worlds sometimes, but that didn't work.

He ends up staring at Saur through the journal as he figures out where to go from here.]

Oh, uh, I thought you might've known. I guess pokéballs are as complicated as they look. [...] Do you know where you're gonna stay yet?

[There we go, changing the subject is just as good as thinking up the right thing to say. Perfect.]

[Saur isn't watching the journal now, having turned around to get more comfortable of Red, but she is still visible.]

In one of the apartments? Somebody told me I can stay in them for free. [He looks off-screen.] I've gotta see if there's still a ground floor free 'cause Snorlax won't like climbing up too many stairs.

[Voice is slowly less and less sounding so down in the dumps at least!?]

Yeah, that's right. [He'd say something about the apartments and community buildings but they all got switched around since the last time he was here and he's not sure how much has changed about them in his time away. He should really take a look around one of them someday just to familiarize himself with them again.] ... I can see why a ground floor would be a good plan. Wouldn't putting him in his ball and carrying him up that way work though?

[... Could something as big as a Snorlax even fit in an apartment. See, this is why he needs to look around the community buildings sometime, to know that answer.]

[He means the same thing as the community buildings but ~~I'm dumb~~ same difference SAME DIFFERENCE.]

I can't find his ball right now. I took a look around the shop people say your stuff comes back in, but it wasn't there. A bunch of my things were missing.

[Both names are used a lot, it's cool! He got what Red was saying!]

Oh yeah, right. That's gonna cause you some trouble until you find them again, huh. [...] I'll keep an eye out for them! Some of my stuff still hasn't shown up yet, so I'll be going back to check and see what's around sometimes. It won't take much to look around for your pokéballs as well.

[He's offering to keep an eye out for them?...]

What are you missing?

[Yup! They might have different ideas on how to handle creatures from different worlds, but he's not a total jerk.]

A few things, most of it is stuff I was given the last time I was here, but what I'm really missing is my arm guard. It's kinda like a shield but smaller.

A shield? [That makes his eyes scrunch as he thinks.] Like... swords and armour?

Yeah, like that! [Or half like that anyway. He doesn't really use armour past the giant hunk of metal his wears on his arm and calls an arm guard.] I already have my sword, I found that as soon as I got back, but the guard hasn't shown up yet. I've checked the smithy and the item shop and still haven't found it.

Oh... what does it look like? I could keep an eye out it for it too. I only found my bag in the item shop with some potions in it so I've got to check back for stuff.

It's like... [How the heck does he describe it?] Three pieces of metal stuck together in a line. It's as long as the first part of your arm, it should cover most of your hand... But it's curved and pointed so it doesn't get in the way too much. Did you get all that?

Nnnn.....dunno?

[Everything about him says no.]

[Red...] How can you not know? I just told you everything! [Maybe he needs to expand on his description a little.]

Just look out for something the length of your arm that's like three things stuck together. Oh, and there are like two pieces of circular metal on it too, you'll know it when you see it! [Hopefully?!]

So there's three pieces of metal... and two pieces of circular metal? Why's it not just one bit of metal? [HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT SHIELDS...]

It is! It's all stuck together into one thing! But it's not like one solid block of metal, it's made up of different parts. [...] That's what makes it lighter. If it was just one lot of metal then it would be a lot heavier and it would just weigh your arm down and get in the way... I think.

[Just because he uses these things doesn't mean he knows how they're made exactly! ... Kind of like how Red uses pokeballs and doesn't know how they work!]

Hmm...I guess I'll know it when I see it. It looks pretty weird in my head though... but I've only seen a shield once.

I guess your world doesn't need many shields. In my world weapons and shields are the best way to defend yourself, but in yours you have your Pokémon for that. [... Uh. He's not calling Pokémon weapons-] I know Pokémon are more than just that though.

[Nod! It's fine though, no offence taken.] Well, some people see pokémon in all different ways... some people see them like bodyguards. But as long as they love them and take care of them...

[Calming down, and the slow realisation that maybe Caius's world is vastly different, and needing of swords and shields- well, maybe it is a more dangerous environment. ...maybe he'll think about it more later.]

But OK! I'll keep an eye out! Did you lose anything else?

Yeah, I get that much. [You wouldn't want to mistreat the things that protect you. Looking after your equipment is a lot like caring for a Pokemon, in a way.] And that's it for now. I've got some other things that might show up but my arm guard is what I need most out of all the other stuff.

[He had all sorts of things with him ~~since he's an RPG hero~~ after all the traveling he had done, but there wasn't much he carried that was vitally important that he couldn't find some version or another of here. While he can fight without the arm guard, it helps having something to defend himself with that he's used to using.]

And if I find it, should I use this thing to tell you?

That would be the best way to do it, yeah. Just make another entry in the same way you made this one and I'd get back to you... Oh yeah, and if you wanted to make it so only I hear about what you find you could put a filter on your entry too.
