[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.

Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?

But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.

They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]

[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.

What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...

Couldn't they say something if they wanted to know something? [Actually.] Can you do that? Talk to someone when they're talking to someone else.

They could... [Probably the better way to go about it really rather than being all sneaky.] And yeah, you can. Just speak up while they're talking or write something to send to them, same as you would use the journal for anything else.

So I guess the journal is just used for talking and- sending files or something. More like the internet than a phone.

[Except you can do three-way conversations on phones right?? But you can't share guides over phones...]

Yeah, that's all of it. You can link other replies from people and other entries they've made... And if you can draw something in the journal you can send that too. [He's pretty sure they've covered everything about the journal at this point.] I know they're kind of like phones since they let you talk to people, but what's the internet?

You don't have the internet? It's like... you can read pages on it and share pictures and messages with other people. Do you know about computers? They're super handy.

My world doesn't have computers, I only know a little about them from being here but I've never had the chance to use one... It sounds like you're just talking about the journals again though, so they must be really similar.

Probably, but they don't look the same. You can't hold them. ... can you listen to music on this? You can do that. And watch videos that aren't other people talking! Or they can be, but not like we are right now -- like TV shows.

If someone else is playing music and their journal is on then everyone else can hear it, if that's what you mean. And if someone is watching something then you can watch it with them on the journals too... Like movies, or TV shows too I guess. [Though he's more familiar with the former.]

Uhmmm... are they watching and playing the music on the journals? 'Cause that's how you do it on a computer. Like you want to watch something so you go to a website that lets you watch stuff. Or let's you listen to music! Nobody else has to be watching or listening to them if you want to watch them.

[Uh. Website? ... Give him a moment to come up with a reply.] You can play music and watch stuff over the journals. I think that's right, since you're kinda just watching and listening to what someone else is doing. So really the internet is like a TV and a music player rolled into one?

Uhh... do other people have to be playing something so you can watch it? Because you don't need to wait for someone else to watch it first. It's already there.

Yeah, you can't just start watching stuff like a movie on them. But you can watch and listen to things other people have already recorded on the journal if you want to look back and listen to stuff you've missed.

[Hey. Watching TV in any capacity when your world doesn't have it is a pretty cool experience okay.]

But if you can listen to music people've put on it, why can't you watch movies? You could just record them and put them up on the journals, then they'd be there to watch whenever you want!

[Watching movies is very important except Red doesn't really watch them anymore...]

Yeah, you could do that too... But after a while you would have to start looking back really far to find the recordings.

[Since with all the entries that get put on the journals it would end up taking longer and longer to find them.]

Oh... on the internet you can save pages so you don't lose them. Too bad this doesn't work like that and a real book.

[Saving pages huh.] You could try using a bookmark in your journal, that might work in saving the page you're on!

[With how the pages in the journal shift though he's not sure what the chances are of a bookmark actually working.]

How about... you save a bookmark on the page you're on right now, then come back to it later and see if it's me?

... Okay, I'll try that! I'll find a bookmark from somewhere and see if I can get back to you.

[He'll probably end up having to use a makeshift bookmark out of some scrap paper or something (because haha as if he reads enough to keep a bookmark around), but he will definitely try out this idea all the same!]
