[ Nothing interesting on the video feed here, just a black-haired boy with his pikachu's head poking from the bottom of the screen. ]

Hi, my name's Red. I've got a couple of questions... I wanted to ask about first aid and the battle dome, and also if there's anybody that knows about fixing things? [ He looks away ] I don't have anything broken, but I wanted to have something looked at.

[ Right, anyway. Back to the screen. ]

But with the first aid... I was wondering if anyone had the time to help me see if I know what I'm doing? I got taught how to put on bandages a long time ago, but I don't think I was doing it right the last time I did it.

[ Maybe it had been fine, but a refresher would be good either way. ]

Anyway, then the battle dome - I wanted to know about what fighters train against in there. [ This was going to be hard, but ] I know people here have different abilities, and what we can handle is different too. I've tried creatures not from my world, but I guess...

[ What does he guess? He thinks, pinching his bottom lip in. ]

...I guess I just want to know if there's something better me and my pokémon can do. Everything's still challenging in the battle dome, but I want -- more? [ Um.

That sounds... bad? He fidgets, then shrugs. ] I don't know. I thought it'd be interesting to know what else we could fight on there. That's about it really.

[ Private voice to Caius (

accepted) ]

Hey, Caius. [ He pauses, trying to think of how to continue... ] You fight with a sword, right? I want to practice with you sometime, if you've got the time.

Mm. Do you think I could stop by today? If you're not busy yourself that is. Otherwise we can certainly meet up another day. Perhaps I could give you your first official magic lesson.

Sure. Just find me and I can set something up for you.

Alright! I'll stop by then. [ And with that Helios will end the conversation and head over to the battledome to go find Red. When he has found the other he'll tap lightly on the glass of the control room Red is in. Helios will give a happy wave of his hand as waits for the other outside. ]

[ IIIIITT'S HELIOS.

With Helios coming over, Red's kept the simulation going on simple enough that he'll at least be ready when the man comes - and hear him. Which he does, turning to the sound and smiling a little. He tells his pokémon to continue training (but warning that it might end suddenly), then opens up the way. ]

Hey, Helios. Are you ready?

[ And he is not carrying an ax, lets be clear. He is carrying a notebook though to jot down any information he might find useful for the next time he comes back here. ]

Oh yes! Thank you for w-waiting. I-I hope I didn't keep you. I'll try to be as good a student as possible. You'll have to pardon me, though. I-I'm rather...bad at these technological things.

He is really bad at them. ] I'll just write some things down for future use.

It's okay [ he shakes his head ] I only know how to use some of it too.

[ Annnd, let's look at the console! ] You said you use dummies, didn't you? Do you make them with this? [ pointing to the panel! ]

Ah well that makes me feel slightly better. [ He still laughs sheepishly though. ]

Oh. Ah. Well I usually make them out of dirt or-or clay from outside. I never really use the battle dome to train all that much.

[ Ah? -- ] Oh, yeah! I remember seeing you with those.

[ That's how they met, after all! ] Okay, I'll show you what I do here. [ He's made room for the both of them to stand - it's a clear and easy screen to see, so he only needs room to move a hand around. ] There's a bunch of pokémon you can bring up on this. There's other monsters too. Here.

[ Fortunately (or hopefully it is), Helios is getting taught by a kid who doesn't care about the fussy details of technology. He knows what he wants or needs to know (how to bring up scenery, and how to bring up opponents). He's not impatient about explaining or repeating anything that confuses Helios.

Helios will even get the chance to set up a simulation with a pokémon foe of his choice! (as long as you're not going too high a generation there buddy, NO SPOILERS). And as for scenery... ]

Do you want to make the room look like anywhere? We can keep it like it is. I usually make it look like somewhere from home. Or just somewhere that looks [ cool. wait, let's pick a better word ] -- interesting.

[ Helios is watching with a curious and attentive eye, like student almost. He'll rub his chin as he watches Red bring up the various screens and options. It's a little bit daunting and dizzying to learn it all, but it's not as bad as he first thought. ] Ah! How about some of these and these?

[ He'll choose pidgey and rattata for now. ] Hm. Interesting. How about some type of ruins?

[ Those are always pretty to look at and it could give the battle some obstacles too. ]

Sure. [ And he'll select the pidgey and the rattata. Easy enough. Except his next request... that'll take some flicking through. Does he know any ruins? Red goes down a list... ]

I don't really know any ruins... does a mountain count? [ Ruins. Caves. Same thing, right? ]

Hm. [ Helios will watch Red carefully over his shoulder. ]

Perhaps I could give it a try? I-I mean if that's alright. [ He wasn't gonna get the hang of it just by watching. So maybe this was a good time to put some hands on application to use. ]

Yeah? [ --oh, he means the console. ] Oh, yeah, sure.

[ And Red will back away for Helios to use it! Give it a go, sir. ]

[ Helios smiles as he gets to work finding an appropriate and rather picturesque place to do battle. Just to set the mood he'll choose this pretty place to do battle. ]

I do actually know a little bit on how to change the scenery. Hopefully this will be alright. What do you think?

[ ... woah.

woooaaaahhh.

This is much cooler than what Red could've come up with. Did Kanto have any sights like this? No, he can't think of Kanto at all - it's like a completely different world. ]

Is that your home? [ Referring to the pyramid!! ]

Home? [ Helios looks at the pyramid and then laughs a little shaking his head. ] Oh no. This is a place from my home it's called Uxmal. These ruins were left by ancient indigenous people long ago. It's a very old and very magically suffused area in my world.

[ A ley line ran through it so it was a good source of magical power. ]

[ Oh. Well, Helios did live in that large place with Saori, so... no matter. From overhead, the sounds of bird calls - perhaps foreign in their tone - can be heard. Where or what they come from won't be a mystery, as brown, small birds with a creamy underbelly and feathery winged tips can be seen perched on some of the stone walls. ]

Oh, pidgey!

[ Sorry, Red's going to be distracted for just a second, though he only takes a few steps away from Helios and to the closer building to look at them. Got to remember the settings he put on.

He looks back to the man. ]

Those are the pokémon that I put up for you. They won't attack you unless you get really close. There's rattata too, and both of them usually hang around in long grass to hide.

[ So! Saying that! ] Do you think you're ready? Pidgey and rattata can be kinda fast - and pidgey can kick up a really big gust of wind.

Ah! So that's what they look like in person. [ Helios doesn't seem to be too intimidated. Then again going up against cultists and third party members for the last three years has given him lots of training. He'll nod with a serious expression on his face. Still he needs to concentrate and focus his attentions on two enemies, one from the sky and one from the ground. ]

I-I think I'm ready, yes. Shall we star then? [ He turns to Red with a bright smile and he looks over at the pokemon. ]

[ Pidgey also have the least intimidating appearance to most, even those unused to them. As for what Helios is looking for, there's some activity in the unkempt grass around the bottom edges of the wall, though more further to the side than right in front of them as the pidgey can be seen. Now and then when the grass rustles, quick darts of purple peek out from the tips. ]

Sure, let's go... this way. [ He motions to Helios with a hand saying that, seeing a good patch that might be a place to start and ready to go towards it. But, he reconsiders in the next second -- because wait wait wait, this isn't a training session for him. ] Oh, unless you want to try it by yourself. I can stand back and watch. That way you can get a feel for it yourself.

[ Helios is creeping ever so closer towards those pidgey and rattatas. He'll turn to Red with a smile. ]

Oh no. You're more than welcome to join me, since there seems to be a good amount of them! But, ah, only if you'd like too!

[ Helios honestly doesn't mind either way. His eyes will light up, glowing a bright green from their usual dull green appearance, and a ball of fire will erupt into the palm of his hand. ]

[ Wellll... ]

No, it's okay. [ He shakes his head, smiling. ] I'll have a look around here. If you want me to put up stronger pokémon let me know.

[ Imagining Helios - a person - throwing that fireball at a pokémon is a funny feeling, only really happening during the draft, but. It's fine. Is it really any different than sending a charmander after a pidgey or rattata? ]

Ah alright! Do take your time looking around, there's loads of places to explore here.

[ That fire in his palm flares upward and curls like a snake in the air. If Red doesn't stick around Helios will get to work on dispersing those rattata first. A blast of fire will be aimed at the high grass to draw them out. He'll then attack the pidgey in the air with bolts of lightning and blasts of powerful wind magic. ]

[ He doesn't move completely from sight, but he won't be in the way of Helios. For the pokémon that he gets the hits on, their forms will disappear in a flicker of light, no corpses littering the ground.

But once the attack begins, the pokémon - both pidgey and rattata - take notice of the man. The pidgey take into the air where some meet the lightning, though the wind they have some ability to push back. Even for small pokémon, they have a good grasp on such control of wind themselves.

And there's plenty of pidgey that come to try and show that, if Helios isn't quick to notice as the rattata scurry around, coming out of the grass but not keeping still after the fact, with a few deciding to aim themselves for the man's legs to bite on with their large front teeth!

As for those pidgey, sharp gusts of winds created by a flap of their wings hit the ground, kicking up the dust into the air to add as a distraction. ]

[ Helios will counter those rattata by throwing up a barrier around himself. They'll be thrown back when they collide with it, but it doesn't do much damage. His first order of business is to take out those pidgey, since aerial attacks are more troublesome than ground attacks. The dust makes Helios hold up a hand to his face, but his barrier also helps disperse some of it as he runs towards the pidgeys in his field of vision. He'll use a light based attack this time known as sancti fusis. Threads of light will appear from Helios' fingertips as he lashes out at the pidgeys with those threads. It'll wrap around their wings and pull them closer to Helios himself, before he's able to let off another lightning attack to finish them off for good.

Helios' attention will turn back to the rattatas then as he lets off a power, ground shaking, earth spell that cause spikes to shoot up from the ground. ]

[ The pidgey try to struggle when grabbed by the lengths of light, companions not restrained attempting to peck and free them, but only assuring themselves to be caught in the bolts that come crashing down around them. The rattata too don't fare any better, those of who thought to begin to create dirt holes - while others still tried to break down at Helios's barrier through bashing at him and with their large teeth - get caught into the spikes that erupt from underneath. All around Helios, the creatures disappear in a white light. All goes silent.

When he's had time to breathe and to know that there's no danger to come, Red walks back forward onto the scene, though calling out before getting too close just in case. ] Helios!

[ Trainers and pokémon could at times still have their head ready for a fight at the end, after all. Good to be careful.

Despite viewing much of what had happened from afar Red can't help but to eye the ground surrounding Helios, though he looks back to the man before he speaks. ] What did you think? Did you want stronger pokémon? Or I could turn up the difficulty. Some more will appear soon, but they looked too easy for you.
