[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.

Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?

But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.

They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]

Uh, excuse me?

[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.

What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...

Restaurants are also not safe. ]

[ Red may or may not really get this thing already. Either way he, with maybe the head of one of his pokémon peeking at the side, will be looking at the book in bewilderment. ]

Yeah, basically. But you want to be careful with them. If you hurt them in anyway, you can hurt yourself too. They're connected to our life, so if you sustain serious damage to them, you could possibly kill yourself.

As far as how, I'm afraid I don't know for sure.

[Okay, that makes him stop trying to turn.] R-really?

[Kill himself? Okay, he doesn't want to do that. Meanwhile, the thumping before hadn't stopped - actually, it had gotten louder, until it stopped being quite as strong and the form of Snorlax appeared behind them, breathing quite heavily. Red looks at him upon his arrival, acknowledging his presence.] Snorlax.

[But there's more important things first, and Snorlax can do with catching his breath. Red looks back to Serah. She's already told him a bunch of pretty big questions, and so he has to think. What does he really want to know next?]

Hey, do you know what's happened to my stuff? I had a bag and their pokéballs, but they're all gone. Did it get taken?

[He's being very presumptuous. He looks down at the gear in his arms.] Oh. [-and takes out the book pressed between his chest and the clothing, holding it out for Serah to see.] But I think someone left this book behind.

[Well, that was an odd creature...]

Oh your stuff... It's most likely in the shops. If you'd like I can show you where they are.

[Serah freaked out the first time she realized her necklace was missing.]

Oh! That's the journal. That's yours. Everybody has one here.

[Showing her own to him.]

[His face perks up to hear that his belongings might actually be anywhere - really, it was dumb hopefulness that they wouldn't be anything else but stolen by whoever... stole him. Though his expression begins to fall a bit when the words 'in the shops' come in, but it's distracted when she says the book is his. He looks at hers and then the one in his hand.]

We got books? Why?

[He hasn't actually... looked in the things yet. Shifting his clothes under his arms, he tries to open it up to take a look now.]

They're used for communication and a few other things. There's also resources on there like a map. You can contact people with it and even use video/audio/text responses.

[Leading him towards town to get his stuff.]

Huh? You can talk with a book?

[That sounds silly, Serah. But it is keeping Red pre-occupied as they all walk.] Which page is the map on?

[Grabbing her own journal, she showed him how to get to it.]

It took me a while to get it, too.

[Woooah. He tries to follow that, getting a bit fuddled in places, but eventually...!!]

Are books like this weird to you too?

Sort of, yeah. I've gotten used to it by now.

[Eventually they finally arrive in town and are getting closer.]

[At least it's not just him thinking this book thing is very strange! He stops looking from the map, seeing the trees clear away for buildings and civilisation.]

Wow... so where is this? Luceti? [He remembers her saying that name.]

I'm actually not sure where exactly it exists. I was told it was a separate world from our own. Everyone is from their own worlds. But this place is called Luceti.

[pokeboy]

Different worlds? [Unsure face about that here.] Like... different dimensions sorta stuff?

[crystal_stasis]

Yeah, sort of. I'm still sort of trying to figure that out yet too.

[pokeboy]

Hmmm... a while back, I met some ghost pokémon. There was one called haunter. Because it can move through walls and buildings, they think it's from another dimension. So maybe it's like... that?

[...] Hrrmm... that doesn't really make any sense. N-nevermind. [He can't get this other world stuff.]

[crystal_stasis]

Pokemon? What's that?

That sounds interesting though.

[pokeboy]

That? [...] Haunter? They're ghost pokémon. Like gastly. You know, like from ghost stories?

[crystal_stasis]

I get that but I've never heard of pokemon.

[pokeboy]

...They're pokémon. [He's not getting it.] They're everywhere. You know? Like... rattata, and pidgey!

[crystal_stasis]

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with any of those. We don't have creatures like this back home.

[pokeboy]

Uh, well... if you don't have rattata or pidgey, what do you have?

[crystal_stasis]

Um... Well... we have fiends, L'cie, and cie'th, but none of those are good things. Other than that, we have chocobos and normal pets.

[pokeboy]

What are all of those? What's difference between all the first and a normal pet?

[crystal_stasis]

Um... Well.... fiends are the monsters that attack people. L'cie... well...

L'cie are the enemy of Cocoon, the world that I'm originally from. They're dangerous people and essentially ticking time bombs.... They're giving a mission referred to as a Focus, but if they don't finish in time, they become a Cie'th. As a Cie'th, they no longer exist as themselves anymore. Instead, they're empty shells of who they used to be only existing to attacking people without any thoughts.

Chocobos are giant yellow birds that you can ride when they're adults. They're really nice to have around, but chocobos are kind of sparse now back home.

[Woah, that was a lot. A lot of... something? Something that Red isn't sure he understands.]

So L'cie, they're... people? Who can turn into Cie'th if they don't do a thing? Or... that's a title?

They were yes... They're dangerous and looked down upon.
