[ A Add another number to the newbie arrival for this month. Red thankfully has friendly company to help him realise what the heck is on his back, and also to rip some holes in his shirt so he can stop wearing nothing over his chest. He's carrying the rest of the clothes though, he's not messing around with changing out in a forest at this time.

Maybe you're lurking around in the forest for whatever, and wow what is that big thing you see through the trees? Or wow, what's that faint, pleasant smell in the air?

But they'll also be found in the town, with the boy and his three pokémon finding themselves led there thanks to a good pair of ears.

They're free to approach, or maybe Red will approach your character should they not seem to be in a rush. ]

[ B A little trouble may or may not occur. Did somebody say something about Luceti and cookies??? Who's cooking? Because that aforementioned big round guy? Red was led to the town by Pikachu's ears and Snorlax's impressive Food Is Here senses. So if anybody is baking right now, the snorlax might juuust try to circle around your house (or wherever it is you're cooking), to try and find the source and how to get to the source.

What is that shadow creeping outside your kitchen window? What is that rattling on your door knob? Are you not even in a house with food? Well, you may not be so alone for long...

[ Red may or may not really get this thing already. Either way he, with maybe the head of one of his pokémon peeking at the side, will be looking at the book in bewilderment. ]

I get that but I've never heard of pokemon.

...They're pokémon. [He's not getting it.] They're everywhere. You know? Like... rattata, and pidgey!

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with any of those. We don't have creatures like this back home.

Uh, well... if you don't have rattata or pidgey, what do you have?

Um... Well... we have fiends, L'cie, and cie'th, but none of those are good things. Other than that, we have chocobos and normal pets.

What are all of those? What's difference between all the first and a normal pet?

Um... Well.... fiends are the monsters that attack people. L'cie... well...

L'cie are the enemy of Cocoon, the world that I'm originally from. They're dangerous people and essentially ticking time bombs.... They're giving a mission referred to as a Focus, but if they don't finish in time, they become a Cie'th. As a Cie'th, they no longer exist as themselves anymore. Instead, they're empty shells of who they used to be only existing to attacking people without any thoughts.

Chocobos are giant yellow birds that you can ride when they're adults. They're really nice to have around, but chocobos are kind of sparse now back home.

[Woah, that was a lot. A lot of... something? Something that Red isn't sure he understands.]

So L'cie, they're... people? Who can turn into Cie'th if they don't do a thing? Or... that's a title?

They were yes... They're dangerous and looked down upon.

Why? Don't they turn dangerous 'cause somebody made them turn that way? What if they don't want to do the- mission, or whatever?

Unfortunately we don't have a choice. Although, I guess it would help if people weren't so curious.

[Without thinking, she reached for her arm.]

Don't worry! I'm sure it's all okay at home! They should really get rid of Ceeez or whatever though, and the whole mission things! That doesn't sound right -- people can get people who want to do the jobs to do them!

Uhmm well... That's impossible. Many people have tried but.... while some of these Vestiges cause the birth of L'Cie, they're also important for life in Cocoon...

What's she called? Is she nice? --oh, yeah! You had something before in the forest.. what was that? Was that a sword?

[He's never see one before, except in books. Really old-fashioned things right there.]

Her name is Lightning.

[Or at least what she goes by. At the comment of the sword, she grabs it from the holster that she also borrowed from Lightning. Showing the sword again after taking it out.]

Yeah. Well.. It's a gunblade, but I'm not exactly sure how to use the gun part of it. This is my sister's sword, so I'm just borrowing it.

[The name puzzles him, but then he figures out what it must mean.] Oh, like a type! I've never been this close to a sword before...

Yeah. I... Well... I've never really used weapons much prior to coming here. Circumstances have come up that makes it clear than I need to learn how to defend myself.
