[backdated to 24th oops] video

[ When the video turns on in the very early morning, there's only half a face present before it comes up fully onto the screen. The boy is practically beaming at the journal, and there's only a second before-- ]

Ivysaur evolved!

[ Yes. He couldn't keep that excitement in. He's still got a really dumb smile on and he has to remember what he was going to say, a pause there before he continues. ]

If you don't know what an ivysaur is, they're a grass and poison type pokémon! Ivysaur's been with me since she was a bulbasaur and now she's huge! She's big! She's nearly as big as Snorlax is!

[ The camera faces down to a dusty ground, then comes back up. ] I'm going to show you her, okay? [ And then the book flips around, showing a large, blueish-greenish toad-skin looking monster with a flower protruding from her back from the front, standing at 6'10 (for those who can tell). She leans her head to the side, her mouth opening slightly and showing her fangs as she grunts a small sound. She's embarrassed by the fuss, but the yellow rodent at her feet displays her with his arms proudly out towards her. Pika! (Check her out!)

(Also from the background, some might be able to tell that they're at the farm. Why are they at the farm so early? Because.) ]

Isn't she cool? She is! --oh, hey, Snorlax! Stand next to her and show everyone how big she is next to you!

[ The recording swings over to show a very fat panda creature sitting down eating a pile of bread. He continues eating, and as Red begs again ("C'mon, Snooorlax!"), the creature proceeds to noisily shuffle his butt to face the opposite direction. Noopppee. ] Snor! You...!

[ Huff! He faces the screen back to himself finally, making a puffed face but not so seriously. ] Forget about him! Saur's amazing and that's all that matters!

[ And then one last smile! ]

Bye!!!

Yeah! Considering how Pokemon are like animals and plants from other worlds, there must be hundreds of thousands of different kinds, right?

Right! There are people out there that can conjure up brand new spells never even heard before, I know a friend of mine back home always wanted to do such. [And with each passing day, she came closer to her goal.] Though sometimes new spells turn out to be old spells that were thought to be lost in the sands of time. It's just discovery after discovery, since there's just an endless possibility with magic!

I'm decent with it, and magic users are called mages in my world, never really wizards. Though if we get technical, the correct term for me would be a spellslinger. [She's much better with combining guns and magic than just magic by itself.]

I don't need a scroll, thankfully, I simply just have to use my mind! Like this! [She'll make a quick demonstration, raising her index finger so that it was directed toward the ceiling of her apartment. At it's very tip, a small ball of ice formed, about the size of a marble.]

Ah, no, it's not exactly like that. [Though that was funny, to take the name literally.] Have you ever heard of a gunslinger before? It's just like that, only with spells.

[Red...she's giving you a dumbfounded stare right now.

HOW CAN HE NOT KNOW!? She lifts up her hands, both her index fingers pointing out like guns.]
It's...you know...the people who go "bang bang". [She makes the recoil movement with each hand as she says "bang bang". What a great description Karis!]

[Congrats Red, you've caused Karis to go into shock to the point where she FALLS OFF HER CHAIR. She'll still respond, but now off screen, internally screaming.] I...have you ever heard of a gun before? [If he hasn't...]

[She gets back up on her chair, rubbing the side of her head. Ow.] Yeah, I'm fine! Just a bit shocked is all. [Karis gives him a reassuring smile to know that she's okay.

At least he knows something about guns!]
Yeah, they're a weapon, but I use them for the purpose of channeling my magic through, it's easier for me to cast spells that way.

Maybe not in other worlds, but in mine, it's not all that far-fetched. [She shrugs.] Tech and magic get combined a lot where I'm from.

That's a bit surprising but at the same time...not. [She scratches her chin.] Guns probably don't need to exist in your world since you have Pokemon. [They seemed more than capable of doing a lot of damage given the opportunity...even if they appear harmless.]

[personal profile] spellfeather 2014-05-12 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, but what would you do if they weren't around at the time? There must of been a period where you didn't always have Pokemon around?

It must be rather dangerous out there then. [That's the only conclusion she could draw.]

[She takes a moment to think.] Yeah, they would. On my planet we've got plenty of animals like that, and some even coexist with city residence, and won't even flee until you get really close to them. The farther away you get from the cities though, the predators are not as likely to leave you alone if you just mind your own business, at least, with a few of them...

Hmm. Snorlax might not be a very common Pokemon then? Well, if you've only met the one you have. [She doesn't know how far he's traveled.] Wait, he ventured into a city for food? Was there not enough of it where he lived before you befriended him?
