Hi. Does anyone know how people make perfumes? Or the sticks that you burn and they give off smells.

And... I want to know about plants and medicines too! So if anyone knows just send me a message, okay? I don't want to know everything, just one or two things. Thanks.

[ AND THEN LATER ON IN THE DAY- ]

Hi, can I meet with someone who can make a ball of water without it touching anything? I want to try an attack on it, so - if you don't care about water exploding and you have a free hour sometime, let me know! Thanks!

[ Action ]

[ For the day (or even a few days before or after), Red can be found in a few number of places. First are trips into the bakery, grocery shop, convenience store -- heck, he'll visit all of the coffee/tea/restaurants/places that look like they serve food in them (oh, maybe he'll get a glimpse of that beautiful lady today...!). He shall also be carrying Very Big Bags that food is going in. After that - or somewhere in all of that, whenever the place opens - is a visit to the flower shop, the boy look at the flowers with his pikachu on his shoulder but really, he's waiting to see someone who runs it!

After that and grabbing a quick bite to eat is a visit to the Willow Tree, and then a visit to the Farmlands to see if there's anything to be done and to check in on Luke Skywalker's bantha Hamal. Doesn't matter if you're back to seeing him Luke, Red and him are bros. Red's pokémon Venusaur is out as always around this time (and everyone else, though those guys are eating), at a section of the ground with her multiple vines on the ground. Her flower is glowing softly, and the ground around her is actually poking out with small dots of green... is that grass? And do the plants in front of her look more grown?

Later on comes his training with a few people, as well as going to the Battle Dome when a room's available. Except there the trainer isn't always going to be inside, instead watching over them from the viewable pane on the second floor. (Hey is that Vegeta?? THAT GUY...) But there will be times when he's in there as well. Hey man who knows.

Considering the type of training they've been undertaking though, Red's not going to be at the battle dome the whole day -- his pokémon will need the rest. They'll take a walk into the forest, whether joined at whatever moment by Snorlax and Venusaur (Pikachu is an always, though the little mouse may be up in the trees at the time), sometimes stopping so that they can just chill. Red might be taking advantage of that whole just relaxing thang, but he may be testing out some tricks with the spells he's learnt. One of those will be creating a ball of light and then chucking it, bouncing it to go far - and then making it go in a flash of light at his command. What a nice waste of time.

And let's just throw in some other options too! Maybe they're on this day or a day before. Screw the rules of time. Training is an important thing for the trainer, and Red likes to make use of the open land once people get out of the forest towards the mountains. Nice and spacious, though sometimes he makes use of the teleporter to the hot springs to test the mountain ground as well.

Because they want to make some earthquakes, though trying to be mindful of other people around. With their training these days focusing more and more on how one uses their energy to cause bigger damage, getting it to do more than just shake the ground is worth testing out, and there's a different between the dirty earth and the rocky stone of the mountains...

(Gonna try hopping off if they hear anything suspicious approaching though! Yeah buddy we're talking about you. You know who you are.)

And then some days there's a visit to the beach. Big bird Lugia, are you going to be helping with that sometimes? Or at least a ride back to the village? Thanks bro. Because they've been having test matches against each other, Red's three pokémon against such an astounding legendary of the sea. And when they're not fighting? It's chilling on the beach together, Red with his journal out to read to the oversized seagull.

Or a Snorlax might be punching the water. Or kicking it. The sand too. Who even likes sand. ]

[Definitely heard of those, the newer consoles too. While she never had a chance to play video games as a kid, arcade aside, she certainly spoiled her niece and nephew with consoles.]

My family didn't have the money to buy one when I was younger, but I've definitely heard of them. I noticed the rec center has some Nintendo consoles.

[ Oh no, what a crying shame she's never gotten to play one as a kid...! ]

Have you ever played a video game?

I have. There were still arcades in the area and I play games on my phone too.

I liiike... [ wait, he has to remember the word- ] platformers!

[ It's more an a-ha than overly loud. But, let's hurry onto asking more questions back, since Ginia said something really interesting. ]

But what about you? Your phones had games on them?

[Indeed her phone does. Because everyone needs a time waster during long commutes or to entertain themselves in their downtime. Ginia pulls up her game folder on her phone and shows Red the screen. There's a small collection of little bright icons with their names underneath, typical fare for her world; solitaire, crossword puzzles, word searches, Bejeweled Blitz, Plants vs Zombies, Ridiculous Fishing.]

[ Woah woah wooah. At least he can read what they are, and he knows what the first few are, but the rest of them- ]

Ridiculous Fishing? [ he peeks away from the voice, amusement in his voice that asks What the heck is that? ]

[Ridiculous Fishing, only the most ridiculous and heartwarming of fishing games. Ginia gets up and swings her chair around to the other side of the table so she can better show Red the game. And really it's pretty ridiculous.

[ Okay, now it's taken five thousand to years to watch the trailer for that and we're going to wager Red gets to see something like that... ]

...Whaaaat???

[ WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK? ]

[What? It's just a game where you cast into the water and try to get your lure as deep as possible, hooking as many fish on the way up, then blasting the fish out of the sky with a shotgun for money.

Ginia closes the game and goes back to the notepad.]

It's a very silly game, but it's fun.

I've never seen a game like that...! Is that how you play all your games on that? [ He makes tipping motions with his hands. ] Moving the whole device?

Not all of them, but a good portion. Touchscreen technology became pretty popular in my world and with it, cellphones like this one.

A cellphone... is it like a phone? [ He's read her call it that before, but he's mostly viewed it as 'the thing Ginia types on'. ] You know, like a phone you call your friends and family with?

[Ginia nods in confirmation.]

I can send text messages and take pictures too. Phones can do a lot in my world, practically miniature computers.

Wow... and it's so small too! What about e-mails? But that's like what you're doing when you type in it, isn't it?

Email, browsing the internet, record videos, there's a lot that can be done on a phone.

[The wonders of technology. Admittedly, the internet and everything accessible through that was something Ginia missed in Luceti (the variety of food from her world was what she missed the most though). The village was comfortable, electricity and running water was good, the Battle Dome was amazing, but sometimes you needed cat videos.]

It also makes communicating for me easy. :)

[ Luceti doesn't need to be introduced to cat videos. Or even pokémon videos for that matter. ]

Phones would be cool here... [ Oh. ] I mean- I know we have the journals, but it's still weird talking to a book. Back home, they had phones in every Pokémon Centre. Their video screens were bigger too.

They had machines you could transfer pokémon through too. I really miss that the most. [ He looks down at the table and makes a motion with his hand by moving it from one place to another; - from A to B. ] You could just go in and take out the pokémon you had in storage.

[They have the journals, yes, but it's not the same. Ginia knows it's because it's what she's used to using, but carrying around a phone that can easily fit into a pocket is much more convenient than carrying around the journal. But when in Luceti, do as the Lucetians do.]

Do you miss your other pokemon?

[ And it's not like you can call up journals either. But to that question- ]

Of course I do! [ It comes out a little stronger, a little desperate, than he means for it to, fuelled by the subject of all the faces he hasn't seen in so long. He gives himself a moment, lips pinching together. ]

I do... I haven't seen them in so long. There's so many of them, and I'm here in this place without any of them, and sometimes - I think about how they are.

[ He breathes in, then exhales it through his nose. ] I know it doesn't matter because nothing's happening back home and they're fine, like I never left our world or time's stopped or something, but... I'm still doing things everyday, everyday here, without any of them.

And I know I'm not alone. I have Pikachu [ he turns his head to Pikachu, and then looks away ] and Snorlax and Venusaur here with me, but there's more than them. [ He frowns. ] It's like... we could be doing so much together.

[Ginia nods slowly. Whenever someone returns to their world (and one day everyone will leave this place is the bittersweet thought), it's like they never left at all. What happens here doesn't affect things elsewhere, but it's still time. Still weeks that bleed into days into years. People still grow up, grow old and it's hard doing that without the people you care about.]

That's understandable. They're your friends, they should be growing alongside you here.

[ He hums in response, looking to the table still before tilting his head. ]

It's not worth worrying over. I miss them, but... even if I had pictures of them, I think I'd just miss them even more.

[ His thumbs clink together at the nails, and there's small smile creeping onto his face -- until it quickly fades with the coming of a thought. ]

What worries me when I think about it... is the other pokémon I was with. I wasn't just with Venusaur, Snorlax, and Pikachu before I came here, I had three more too. But trainers never come to the village with more than three pokémon, so I don't know what happens to them. What happens to them?

[It's a very good question and one Ginia doesn't have a good answer for. It's not as if they were items that could be left behind. They were living beings. And while pets showed up in Luceti, why only three pokémon? How were the three selected? Ginia's fingers tap lightly against the table as she tries to think of a good answer.]

I'm sorry, I don't know. I think they would still be in your world. Maybe certain pokémon are pulled for the same reason people are pulled here.

[Beat.]

Pikachu seems to be a popular pick for this place.

[ He wasn't looking to Ginia to give him the answer. But he doesn't say it, with the next part that comes up. He looks at it quizzically, until he connects it. ]

You think there's something special about pikachus?

[ Pikachu poking his head up did somebody say pikachu?? ]

I don't know, but some things seem to get favored over others. Like a lot of people seem to come from some version of Earth.

[ Hmmm... ]

But couldn't they just bring in pikachus then? [ ... ] Or maybe it's because they're more familiar?

Or maybe pikachu is the most common between all the trainers here? Are there trainers with the same pokémon?
