[ Nothing interesting on the video feed here, just a black-haired boy with his pikachu's head poking from the bottom of the screen. ]

Hi, my name's Red. I've got a couple of questions... I wanted to ask about first aid and the battle dome, and also if there's anybody that knows about fixing things? [ He looks away ] I don't have anything broken, but I wanted to have something looked at.

[ Right, anyway. Back to the screen. ]

But with the first aid... I was wondering if anyone had the time to help me see if I know what I'm doing? I got taught how to put on bandages a long time ago, but I don't think I was doing it right the last time I did it.

[ Maybe it had been fine, but a refresher would be good either way. ]

Anyway, then the battle dome - I wanted to know about what fighters train against in there. [ This was going to be hard, but ] I know people here have different abilities, and what we can handle is different too. I've tried creatures not from my world, but I guess...

[ What does he guess? He thinks, pinching his bottom lip in. ]

...I guess I just want to know if there's something better me and my pokémon can do. Everything's still challenging in the battle dome, but I want -- more? [ Um.

That sounds... bad? He fidgets, then shrugs. ] I don't know. I thought it'd be interesting to know what else we could fight on there. That's about it really.

[ Private voice to Caius (

accepted) ]

Hey, Caius. [ He pauses, trying to think of how to continue... ] You fight with a sword, right? I want to practice with you sometime, if you've got the time.

[ Sitting here and sulking about it isn't going to do anything though, is it. Though he'll only go back to his apartment and do the sulking, but. Well. It sounds like an okay idea now.

He stands up, Pikachu still flopped in his arms, and takes a step forward. ]

I'm going.

[...Before Red goes, Silver places a hand on his head. Red hasn't exactly told him what happened, but he can wager a good guess.]

Take it easy, alright? You don't have to go up against guys like him alone. [Not here, anyway. What happens in his home is anyone's guess.]

[ He actually moves out of the contact, even shaking his head and frowning at Silver for it for a brief second. There's a meaning to it and Silver's words that he doesn't like, a reminder of his age, but he bites back that annoyance as best as he can. ]

I'm not alone. I have my team. [ He knows what Silver means, but at the same time, that's how it is. ] I won't take him on with anyone else.

[ He never thought about that with a staff, but it's a good thought to keep. He just decided on a staff because it didn't mean stabbing a person to death in his head. ]

When I get better we can train if you want. I want to train against all kinds of weapons so I'm prepared.

[It's not something she'll dismiss right away, but training with Red is something she has to think about too.]

I'll give you a tip if you train against anyone that uses ranged weapons. You really only have two options; get up close as fast as possible, or stay hidden until they run out of ammo or arrows or whatever. And frankly, don't get in a ranged fight if you don't have a ranged weapon yourself.

[A pause.]

If you want, I teach you how to shoot a gun.

[ He has to think himself about her offer. What he knows about the weaponry is from Karis and her use of magic through it, and that Saori had an interest once in learning how to use them. ]

I don't know anything about guns. Is that okay?

Very well. But be warned that this will be much more difficult.

[Saori snaps her fingers and a new creature appears. It's easily three feet taller than the other, and while similar in appearance, the skin is a ruddy red like rust. And it has a long, iron club in it's clawed hand.]

Are you ready?

That's perfectly fine. And it's not something you might like either. But the offer is there.

[ Snorlax was cocky, and once Red might've been as much as well. But he nods, taking the warning. ]

We are. [ He picks himself up, spacing himself from his pokémon for safety. Ah, but first- ]

Should I use everyone? [ He was getting more used to commanding all three at once, and it was a smart question in his head. He didn't want to underestimate Saori's caution. ]

[...There are a lot of responses he has for Red. It's good that he has his Pokémon to depend on, but it's okay to depend on people too. His father is dangerous, and he shouldn't go at it alone, especially if he doesn't have to.

...

But for some reason, it feels like that would all fall on deaf ears. Maybe he needs a different approach.]

You're free to take him on by yourself. I can't stop you. If you manage to defeat him, it's all the better. [That much is true, and he doesn't doubt that Red has what it takes to do it.] At the same time, it's my responsibility to crush Team Rocket. If he starts something here, I'm going to finish it, with or without your help.

[ What the heck is this. ]

I don't know what you want me to say. I'm not going to stop anyone getting in his way, and if you want to take him down, then fine. [ As long as he goes down, after all. ]

But I need to fight him myself. If he's your responsibility, then he's mine too. [ because Red said so, just now ] I don't care if he's the one I know or not.

We can try one day you're not busy with anything. I'm okay with giving a go.

My schedule is pretty open. [Depressingly so with all the departures.] Whenever works for you.

Is later in the day okay? I'm not good at times but I learn magic and staff fighting in the morning and around lunch time.

Yes, that's fine. We'll have to meet at the Battle Dome though, it's the safest place to learn how to shoot. Unlimited ammo too.

[Giovanni recalls Nidoking before the beast collapses into sleep; how like Red to keep going despite the odds. A flustered and angered opponent just makes the battle all the more interesting for him.

He tosses out his next pokeball to release Kangaskhan, who pounds her fists together, ready to start.]

Fight on as long as you like. It won't make any difference today.

Neither do I. [His world, some other world, it doesn't make a difference. Of course, he can't deny that it's Red's responsibility either. Not with what he knows about his own Red. Not with what he doesn't know about this one.] You better work hard on getting stronger if you really want to take him down on your own.

[Red's not planning on growing stronger alone too, is he?]

[ Sorta kinda depends on what 'growing stronger alone' means. ]

I will. [ There's no question about that. ] We're going to do whatever we need to.

[ Red might know Giovanni's right, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to try. You never get anything or anywhere without it. And he might not be thinking so rationally. ]

Scent and sleep powder!

[ Saur tips her front legs forward and lifts up her back legs. It's from her flower petal that the sweet scent spreads out from, with the powder, delayed, comes shooting out in a mist out towards Kangaskhan's direction from the upper tip of her plant. ]

That's okay. I try to be at the Battle Dome every day.

Double Team. [The command comes immediately when Venusaur dips down. Kangaskhan blurs into motion when the powder blasts forward, scattering it as she appears to duplicate all around Venusaur in a ring.

He knows they could finish it there and now, but what's the fun unless you play with your prey first?]

Can you guess which one is her?

I'm usually there too. You're welcome to drop by and say hi if I'm in a room. I always set up an alarm so I know when people enter if I'm in a large simulation.

[ Damnit. Going for just one would be a waste of time. So... ]

Saur, spread your vines and attack them all! Grab her!

[ Multiple Kangaskhans had Venusaur alarmed at the initial sight of, but she follows the command obediently, her vines extending out in an instant, then whipping out in a circular motion to find the right one all at once. ]

[Mirror images blur out and vanish when the vines thrash out and attack each one. The copies go down by half until one hits the real thing; Kangaskhan grips the attacking vine in her paw, revealing her position and making the remaining images disappear. A vine whip still stings something awful, and there's a harsh red mark on her palm when she releases it.]

Sucker Punch. [That's probably enough playtime for now. Kangaskhan stretches her arm back with a roar, fist glowing purple and ready to attack.]

Giga drain! [ Even though the vine hits and Kangaskhan releases it, the command had been to grab, and so the other one still wraps itself around a part of her, the other one joining it. Kangaskhan can move forward, and even land the hit - but the vine around the parent pokémon glows, attacking at her health just as she's aimed to attack Venusaur. ]
