[ Nothing interesting on the video feed here, just a black-haired boy with his pikachu's head poking from the bottom of the screen. ]

Hi, my name's Red. I've got a couple of questions... I wanted to ask about first aid and the battle dome, and also if there's anybody that knows about fixing things? [ He looks away ] I don't have anything broken, but I wanted to have something looked at.

[ Right, anyway. Back to the screen. ]

But with the first aid... I was wondering if anyone had the time to help me see if I know what I'm doing? I got taught how to put on bandages a long time ago, but I don't think I was doing it right the last time I did it.

[ Maybe it had been fine, but a refresher would be good either way. ]

Anyway, then the battle dome - I wanted to know about what fighters train against in there. [ This was going to be hard, but ] I know people here have different abilities, and what we can handle is different too. I've tried creatures not from my world, but I guess...

[ What does he guess? He thinks, pinching his bottom lip in. ]

...I guess I just want to know if there's something better me and my pokémon can do. Everything's still challenging in the battle dome, but I want -- more? [ Um.

That sounds... bad? He fidgets, then shrugs. ] I don't know. I thought it'd be interesting to know what else we could fight on there. That's about it really.

accepted) ]

Hey, Caius. [ He pauses, trying to think of how to continue... ] You fight with a sword, right? I want to practice with you sometime, if you've got the time.

[ Dramaatiiic. Nobody is stopping for you either, Gold. Golems even currently headless are continuing on in attack, using either their body or the nearby boulders or leftover heads or whatever study body parts they can pick up as weaponry.

For Snorlax, it's a punch out taking place, or just a good ol' wrestling match involving an enemy currently being lifted overhead and chucked into a wall (luckily for Gold, not next to him). For Venusaur, she's concentrating on disabling the enemies with her vines, while also trying to pull against them to bring them down.

And in here, Pikachu's attacks actually have some effect on the monsters by the look of the fact that he's even bothering to use electricity. But he's dartign around, being more problematic and distracting than using his full force on them. He's also keeping an eye on Red, who has to move around just in much in this; nobody's going to be ignored here.

Which, by the way -- looks like a golem has noticed you, Gold. ]

[She nods in kind, and starts to walk over towards the shrine, taking a seat on a bench at the base of the hill to watch. Then she claps twice, and the first opponent materializes out of thin air. A creaturewith a vaguely human shape, standing at least seven feet tall. It's skin is a dusky red, heavily muscled, and a pair of horns jut out from it's wild mane of hair. It's eyes gleam with a malevolent intelligence, and it's first response is to grin at the boy, showing a maw of sharp teeth. Several lanterns dance around it's head, marked with blood-red characters, and lit with a sickly blue-green flame. And in it's grip is a heavy looking tree-branch, a sort of makeshift club.]

This, Red, is a Lantern-Oni. It's one of the scouts that lights the path for Hell's troops. It's not very strong compared to some demons, but it should be a good challenge for you. I will warn you that Saur's sleeping powder won't work on it. They don't sleep, so you'll need to actually fight it.

[And once that's said, it takes a step forward, leering.]

[ It's -- definitely something. Red's eyes go from its face to the lanterns, though it takes a moment to look at anything else at first than its form. It's big, but no bigger than some pokémon, and while it's nothing like a machoke, it's probably something like the fighter by the look of it.

So maybe Snorlax wouldn't be the best here. And he actually has Venusaur's ball in his hand.

You'll need to actually fight it.

No problem.

Feeling its eyes on him, Red twitches, but he doesn't freeze. He puts her ball close to his lips and speaks a quiet word, then sends it out with that familiar beam of white light following, the ball returning to his grasp. He doesn't delay- ]

Leech and double-edge!

[ She comes out with her feet running forward, ready to bulldoze the entirety of herself straight into the monster of Hell. Yet it's not the only attack hoping to be made, if Venusaur isn't thrown off at all during her run forward - when from the top of her flower comes out multiple yellow seeds shooting off towards the beast, meant to hit against its body and clasp around instantly by budding on contact. ]

[This boy hasn't found out yet; his shock is much like their official encounter in the Viridian Gym, when Giovanni finally believed he regained the upper hand. He'll just have to make sure he comes out victorious this time.

It's good to know the babysitter in his fashion-disaster cape isn't planning to interfere with their battle, and the trinket is entirely harmless. Giovanni clenches the badge into his palm.] Think, boy. Why else would I have it? I even found a few extras to spare. Lance and the entire League are fools. Their ignorance made running Team Rocket almost too easy.

[Heh. He shrugs and stashes the badge back in his coat, heading for the center of the battle floor.] But I'm just a Trainer right now, and a Leader second. Do you think you can earn my badge?

[The oni stamps it's foot and prepares to charge, but seems somewhat surprised when Venusaur appears in it's path. She's not nearly as heavy as the mountain demon, but it's not really trying to avoid being attacked. After all, it's just some weird plant creature. It does shift it's weight slightly and slams into Venusaur, driving it's full weight into it.

But those seeds do hit, and they do start budding, tendrils and creepers beginning to slide along the muscular monster's skin...]

[ It's an entirely harmless thing. If another trainer had it, it would've meant that they had earned that badge, though for Giovanni to show it for that reason didn't make sense.

Then, it's not hard to figure out why he would have it, but that doesn't mean Red wants to click it into place. Gym Leaders aren't meant to be people like Giovanni, and why - why would he want to hold such a position? As a cover-up? Back in Viridian, the Gym Leader was said to often not be present...

It might be meaningless to some, but to Red, it's a crushing knowledge for Red to know. He knew the police had a hard time, that for their rules and all they couldn't do anything, but...

His shoulders tighten as the anger flares up in his stomach, and Red finishes taking off the ball from his waist in answer, stepping forward to accept the challenge. It's not that badge he wants, but that right that the man thinks he has in handing them out.

He doesn't deserve it.

He doesn't deserve it-- ]

Fight me.

[ As they both slam into each other, its a force that Venusaur feels strongly against her front body, but she refuses to be pushed back even as she growls out at the pain.

The leech seeds don't take affect right away, wrapping around almost innocent without causing much of a noticeable disturbance for the monster, except beyond a tickling sensation. While they do, Venusaur takes out her vines to try and take hold of the monster's arms, aiming to curl around to take some control or to throw them off. ]

Get rid of the weapon! On your left!

[ Venusaur hears the warning, but what plans does the Lantern-Oni have? ]

[The ploy to get control of his arms works somewhat. He's not really able to swing his club and he's stuck in a standstill...but he's straining against the vines, his powerful arms trying to break free.

And at the same time? He starts chomping down at Venusaur, his jaws opening as he tries to get a good bite in on her.]

[ -- Crap. Turns out focusing on that weapon right now is the least of their problems. She tries backing off from the jaws, unable to use his own arms to deflect his mouth though she tries, and Red knows he has to think quick-- ]

Giga drain!

[ Unless he intends to munch down on her plant, her body is harder to reach for a munch on. Meanwhile Venusaur's vines glow, and the rooted seeds around the foe's body begin to glow as well in the same light. From them she takes its energy, absorbing away as much as she can before the beast might begin to thrash harder to break off her main tendrils. ]

There's a person in the village named Leon. He's the one who built the teleporters to the beach and hot springs. I've never talked to him myself, but he sounds like he might be a good lead.

[Isaac also comes to mind, but that's not a person Ginia is comfortable sending Red to seek out. Not that she thinks Red would come to any harm, but there are deals best not made.]

And as for your question about the Battle Dome, I fight people and Third Party cultists.

[That's the kind of spirit he's looking for - determined, childish anger to do something the boy feels is right. How quaint.

Giovanni tosses up a pokeball and catches it.] It's been a long time since I've accepted any challenge. Don't expect this will be easy, though! Nidoking!

[He throws out the pokeball and unleashes Nidoking, who roars triumphantly. Your move, Red.]

Snorlax! [ With the name the ball is tossed, and out from it comes the gluttonous pokémon stomping his foot and growling out harshly in return to the other male pokémon.

Red doesn't wait to hear what Giovanni will do; with the slow-moving pokémon he knows he needs to be quick with commands, and for his first turn he knows what he wants to send at Nidoking. He's already readying himself for the shockwave that'll come shaking through his feet. ]

Earthquake!

[Not a bad opening move; the kid isn't the type to blindly throw out attacks without sparing a crucial second to really think. Red stood apart from so many other younger Trainers that way.

The quake is enough to make Nidoking's knees tremble a bit - and that's it. The creature flexes out his claws until his knuckles crack, looking like he was expecting something else. Giovanni, being the kind person he is, waits until the tremors stop.]

I was hoping you had more than that.

[He's aiming for her neck, actually, but reaching it is all but impossible given the angle. The draining move though, works like a charm. Sort of.

The demon shrieks in rage and thrashes even more wildly, and the glow turns to a sickly purple as the vines on it's body wither and die.]

If you're draining it, stop. [Saori's response is amused, in a way.]

It's life force is cursed.

[ Red knows he shouldn't react to it, but Giovanni's words make his ears prickle. If Giovanni isn't going to send him out to attack, then fine- ]

Yawn!

[ He's not going to send Snorlax over to possibly get gripped into an attack - not first without some security. Snorlax's wide mouth opens, and the loud waves that come out are more than simply a tired pokémon. ]

[ There's a small 'huh?' when he sees what's happening, but as soon as Saori explains- ]

Saur, stop!

[ The vines break off into nothing and she takes her steps heavily back, shaking her body in response to the poisonous force. Red sends out the command for Synthesis, a quick way to refresh and take some of her pains away. The lighting of the room may be artificial, but it's enough to support the Venusaur more than relying upon her own power. ]

[It might look like an innocent yawn, but any Trainer knows they only have so many chances to act before it takes effect. Let's not make this a lengthy battle, shall we?]

Show him our own Earthquake, Nidoking.

[Giovanni immediately bends his knees, preparing for what's going to feel like more than just a little rumble. With a cry, Nidoking smashes a thick foot onto the floor with a sickening crunch.]

Brace yourself, Snor--!

[ It's all that he can hope for Snorlax to do before the attack hits into him, the ground splitting apart with a more experienced and trained Earthquake than the one that Snorlax had unleashed. Red has to do the same, his legs instantly doing so by the sound of the command from the other side.

Dust and specks of rock blast around on the makeshift battlefield, and Red already has an arm up so that it doesn't get in his face, though Snorlax's large form blocks most of it from his end of the field.

The attack hits Snorlax - there's no way that it wouldn't, the blast even sending him down onto his back. He looks over his arm once sound has settled, his teeth gritted. No, he doesn't want the same thing to happen again that did with Gold.

Yet Snorlax appears still... ]

[Gold's eyes meet with the golem's, and that's what tells him it's time for a battle. He jumps back a couple paces and then crouches down, placing Togetaro's ball on the ground. Lining up his shot, he sends the ball rocketing towards the golem. Togetaro then breaks out of the ball, and using the momentum it's gained to enhance its strength, strikes out with a Double-Edge to hit the core of the golem and plow right through it.]

[ The creature shatters upon Togetaro's impact, the explosion it causes ricochets the pieces off the walls and hit against the other creatures inside it. The sound of the golem's decimation catches Red and alerts him this time of Gold's presence, though all he can give him is a quick ] Gold! [ before returning his attention to what's still there.

Might as well finish off what's inside than to cut it short, but Red will try to make it quick. There's a loud and awkward thud as the enemy under Venusaur's grasp hits the ground, and then the plant pokémon growls to bring Snorlax's attention over to her and it. Which is a fine enough time, the wrestling match between him and another golem ending when its rocky torso becomes dislocated from the rest of its body, then thrown towards Red's side of the cave.

And how does it help deal with Venusaur's monster? By a continuous bashing down upon its chest with a large, heavy foot until it goes right through to the other side.

There's still about two left though (not counting the feetless torso, which still looks like it has the ability to move), over with Pikachu that he's been using against each other, and attempting to focus more on physical attacks than the apparently useful electricity here. He moves quicker than normal, off from the golems and climbing on the wall to gain some power when jumping off with his body curled around itself to hurl into the head still attached to the body.

It goes down, but not without leaving Pikachu tired and feeling the impact of smashing himself against hard stone like that, and while he's breathing hard under what's he's been doing, he moves in time and onto the floor to miss a hand swinging up to thwap him like a fly.

Oh hi Gold wanna do anything got distracted there. ]

Do you know what he looks like or what he does?

] A name might be enough - at least he could ask around about him with the added part about him building the teleporters, but maybe if he could find him by any sort of occupation, he could go looking for him that way.

As for the part about people and cultists -- well, it's not entirely surprisingly. If it were just him, he would do the same. ]

What do you fight with?

[ When the shadow in the corner of his eye comes closer, that's what prompts Red to look up. There's nothing to be seen on him that needs to be treated, and Pikachu himself looks fine as well. Just resting.

What happened?

Which part?

Red stares at Silver as he tries to consider which part of everything in his head is bugging him more, and what of it that he wants to share. That he knows the Viridian Gym Leader is actually the mastermind behind Team Rocket? That man, a gym leader? Does he want to want him to know about how much that bugs him? About how absolutely far behind he feels, and how, so much, it's digging into him, making him wish he could have everything at once. Right now, he's still got so far to go--

He looks back to the ground, the flickering of forms bouncing around on the ground from the slips of the rooms that can be seen. ]

Nothing. [ A foot shifts underneath him; his voice feels heavy. ] I found out some things.

[ He never wanted to cheat and find out about the future, but maybe he should have. Being wilfully ignorant even in an unrelated world probably wasn't the smartest choice. It gave people the upper hand, people he didn't want to have it and to rub it in his face.

-- but one of these things is something he shouldn't keep to himself, as much as he doesn't want to talk about it. He can just be careful about what he says. ]

Do you know about Team Rocket? [ He decides to look at Silver's face again with the question. ]

Sorry, I'm not sure. You could try asking Raine, she runs the school and the flower shop. She's been around Luceti long enough that she'd be able to point you in the right direction.

[Ginia pauses before answering the next part.]

Guns and knives.

[The oni tears itself free, taking a step back and studying it's opponent. The intelligence Saori had programmed it with didn't quite cover plant dinosaurs, so it doesn't really know what to do. Except that it's nature is to just cause as much pain and suffering as possible.

Which is why when it sees Red there, clearly giving the orders, the hellspawn goes for the obvious route to fulfill it's nature. It starts to run towards him, trying to get around Saur and smash the boy.]

[ There isn't much Venusaur can do to stop it; her speed isn't exactly slow, but she's still a hefty four-legged creature, and being without her vines - they'll need time to regrow - means she can only roar and try to give chase with first an awkward turn on her heel that delays that plan.

It means Red has to act, fast. But for him, that doesn't mean moving. ]

Pika, [ Red readies his feet, holding out his arm for his pokémon to have free room and giving out the order quick, ] Get ready for nuzzle!

[ Pikachu's cheeks spark once his directions are given, knowing what it is that his trainer plans to do. Red waits until there's a moment to distinguish if the monster plans to slam him or raise the weapon, or at least enough for Pikachu to leap off from his arm with a ] Go! [ and to latch himself onto the beast, sending a rush of electricity meant to paralyse it as Red tumbles into a (not-so-graceful) roll for the side. ]
