Threads for Red can be started here. Add an approximate date and what it is (voice, action, etc no that's not an option) in the subject heading, and I will get back to it as soon as possible.
[ Pre-occupying himself when he arrived in Luceti hadn't really been a thought on Red's mind. The fact that he knew nothing about the strange world other than it was bizarre and gave everybody wings was, well, worth just exploring as he did any new place. By wandering.
It did help, of course, that he found the map on the Welcome Guide when glazing through the pile of words that he was still trying to get through to this day. And all the other little things he became involved in, just seemed to happen. Helping out with the farm and orchard, learning martial arts. It would have never happened back home. Of course back home, there were Gym Leaders to face off against, bad guys asking for their butts to be kicked in. Neither of those existed here, save a few trainers and bad guys that Red didn't know. His home life, like the same for many others, was on stand still.
But not everything he did back there had to be on stand hill here, like exploring and training. And though he had things to do and times to do them, he made sure to get plenty of time with just him and his pokémon. He would just have to plan for when he went exploring the mountains and far off from the village - but for now? The surrounding area would do.
Today was one of those days for exploration. With his pokémon out with him (sans Snorlax), they moved through the trees just to find where their feet would lead him. He still wanted to track down some of the animals around Luceti, and Snorlax wasn't as good for that with his loud footsteps.
Pikachu darted forward, listening and picking up sounds that he could, and catching one that particularly interested him. It was because of him that they all moved towards the river, carefully, with Red seeing still nothing but a thick of trees but Ivysaur smelling the nearing water with her nose. ]
Sorry about the delay, but I have SLAIN WORK! BWAHAHA!
Elizabeth sat out by the stream as usual, her song still seeming to cause some distress around the humans of the town, but being something that was wholly her own, she sang it out here and watched the clouds. Were they stuck by the barrier as well, or were they free to go above it. If she were at full power this was a thing she could figure out, but perhaps as a mystery it was more interesting. Not everything had to have the full light of the truth shone upon it.
Still, it was a quiet day and she continued her song, "Velvet oh Velvet~"
It was the sound of the singing that brought Pikachu jumping through the grass, and soon enough Red knew as well what had attracted the mouse pokémon over. Or guessed it must've been the reason be. Whatever she was singing though, Red had no clue.
He walks forward with his group, not exactly wanting to speak up (he doesn't want to distract her from her singing), but still there's an incentive to say hello all the same. She's alone, and he's never seen her before!
[Once she's been able to clean herself up, eat, and make sure both Helios and Vegeta were in decent enough shape, Saori's thoughts turn to Red. The thoughtful young boy who'd come to help her and the others, who'd been put in a situation he never, ever should have been put into, and who'd kindly helped her in a way she hadn't really expected anyone would be able to. Dreamless sleep was not an easy thing for her, lately.
Rather than go to his house, though, Saori concentrates on the blessing, instinctively following it all the way to some remote locale, far away from the town. But the mun isn't sure where so... And when she gets there, she'll call out.]
Wait, no; it's not there at all. It's in the back of forest behind the house that Red usually stays at, off towards the west. It's easy to get into the woods quickly, and Red's been through it enough times to not get dumbly lost within. It's a nice place, he's always thought.
And he and his team have gotten used to it more within the past couple of days. With a sleeping bag, an extra blanket, and a few other useful items for camping out in the woods - like some food and so on, - it was where Red had been staying since around the day after their return from Zompania. There were people in the house, sure, nice enough people, and it was safer for that reason, but there was something unsettling about it at the same time. Something about seeing other people, about being in the building somehow. It might've been all in his mind, but while the forest was an open space with no walls for safety (and that too had been as unsettling discomfort for a while), there was more cease to be found by the lack of people who didn't quite know what to do with themselves.
But camping out, there were people or streets or buildings, unless they slipped into the village for food. Just a lot of trees and the smell of dirt and grass and oak.
They're not hard to find upon approaching closer to their position. Venusaur's flower gives off a familiar smell at all times, one that sticks to Red even when she's in her ball from his constant exposure to her. The group have found as well a nice small clearing within the crowded trees to set up a small camp, remains of a burnt out fire put together in the centre and odd tidbits close to it. And there with it all were the pokémon and their trainer, sat close by. But Red rises with the sound of the voice, startled at first to hear anybody else and hesitant for it, but he heads over towards where Saori approaches from. ]
Saori...? What's wrong?
[ It's a pleasant surprise to see her, being long enough since he has, but Red can't think of why she's there. Bad news? He can't help but think that it is, and a slight look of worry starts to come onto his face. ]
[Well the preparations had been made, and the house was prepared. Saori had fully committed to the hosting of a rather nice dinner for Vegeta, Red, and his pokemon. She'd orchestrated it all so that Helios would be out of the house to spare him the extra work when he'd have invariably offered to help. The whole day had been devoted to cooking, and there was a lot of that to do. Red had likely helped too, and she'd sent out a message to Vegeta to get some drinks (again).
Whenever the two arrive, in whatever order they choose, she'll greet them with a wave and have them sit at the main table which is covered with stuff. Tuna Sandwiches, kimbap, rice and a few grilled fish for Saori, sushi, even a mound of fried chicken and flounder. A couple of steaks, an omelette for the hostess, and various currys and breads rounded it all out.
[He eyes it over, already hungry enough. He doesn't answer Saori, but instead he goes to grab a tuna sandwich to start, after he's set quite a few gallons of juice and milk off to the side.
He then grabs a plate if he's not stopped and will immediately start to pile food on it. And another plate. And another.]
[Karis would wait patiently at the entrance of the battle dome until Red arrived, shortly after she had lunch too. Tucked underneath one arm was one yellow notebook, and one green notebook, the former containing a few healing spells and the latter containing beginner spells. She wasn't sure how fast Red would progress, and brought them along just in case. Everything was prepped and ready, she knew what sort of simulator they'd be in, how to explain meditation and everything else that hadn't been gone over already over the journal.
However, there would be one nuisance that would be constantly present. Unfortunately, Karis would be near constantly scratching one of her molting legs, leaving trails or piles of feathers in her wake.]
[ Red didn't take too long to arrive, getting lunch for himself and his pokémon earlier than other people due to there being four of them (and him needing to sort it for them all). Walking around the village had brought about an unusual sight though, one that he didn't even notice as odd at first until Pikachu's wandering and collecting caught his attention.
There were... feathers. Everywhere. And not usually where they're meant to be, like on a person's back. Funny too, was how the trail led over to the battle dome where he needed to be. Pikachu still held onto a bunch as they made their way there, but he decided he couldn't collect them all, and swapped to watching the trail.
Which ended up at Karis. With a pile surrounding her. Red blinked, not knowing if to show concern or not as he approaches. ]
[It'd been a few months since they'd all begun working together, and it really felt to Saori that both Red and Gold might be ready to attempt a spar. Red had been at it a bit longer, but he was younger, so it should all even out a bit. So, instead of the usual training, she arranges to meet both of them at the Battle Dome. little later than usual, knowing that one of them will probably be late.
She's early sitting on the grass outside the Dome without a whole lot going on, her gi as neatly pressed and cleaned as ever, with Keiko sitting at her side, the winged shiba-inu panting happily in the early afternoon sun.]
[ Time and Red never had a good relationship, but he's made sure to make it work between the two of them in regards to his training. And this especially he was sure to come even early for, even if it's not by much.
Pikachu is his ever present company on his shoulder, his staff and own training outfit - not as neatly nor as clean as Saori's, but nice enough!! - on him as well. Red hadn't known that Gold was being trained by Saori as well, but there wasn't any reason for him too -- and it didn't matter, ultimately.
Except the fact that he was going to be the opponent for the spar. How about that.
He nods his head to Saori when they make eye contact, Pikachu speaking up cheerfully before Red does. ] Saori. Hi.
[ -- but of course he's going to get down on one knee to meet Keiko with! Helloooo winged doggy. ]
I didn't really peg you for the research kind of guy.
[She's comfortable here among the library's books and data cataloging, but... a boy Red's age? She couldn't imagine any of her guy friends - well, Senior Green might be an exception - wanting to spend their week doing busy work.
It's probably one of the easiest missions to do though, so she can't blame him. It's a nice change of pace too. The enclosure's library was pretty nice, but it's got nothing on the Malnosso's Central Library -- now that she's here to appreciate it.
And it feels a lot like home, in some weird way. Home without being home. She could live with that.]
[ Red blinks away from the book in front of him, the words on the pages not so much of a blur they seem to be once he gets himself to settle down and focus entirely on what he's doing. ]
Why not? [ But he knows why, and he wouldn't exactly disagree. But... ] Professor Oak wants all kind of data for his pokédex, so I'm always researching when I'm on the move. I take notes, I talk to people... [ he shrugs, keeping his place with a finger on the spot he was up to (he knows he'll have to reread the whole sentence anyway). ] This is just indoor research.
... I don't do this a lot though. [ okay, he admits it ] But I said I'd do it, so I'm gonna do it.
[In the afternoon, Jean stops by at the clinic to make an inquiry about cold remedies. It had started with a scratchy throat the day before, and when he woke up this morning his nose was like a leaky faucet. He finds himself grateful for whoever came up with the idea of disposable handkerchiefs in a pocket-sized packet, but there has to be a way to clear his head faster.
As he waits for an available doctor, he notices Red all bandaged up in the bed that's housed in one of the adjacent rooms. He doesn't recognize him as the boy who he'd helped to dig a grave in Zompania. The protective suits they'd all worn had obscured the features of faces and the shapes of bodies enough that, out of the suit, and out of that hellhole, there's little for his memory to latch onto when he looks through the doorway at the boy. Not yet.
His voice is thick with mucus when he speaks.]
Hey...what happened to you? [This is part idle curiosity, and part knowledge that it sucks to be cooped up by yourself when you're sick or injured. His company ain't much, but it's something at least.]
[ It's not the most comfortable way to be in the clinic. With one of his wings still largely tender after getting broken during his run-in with Giovanni, sitting up is still a pain not really worth the effort. Getting on his side is the most he can do (now, anyway) as long as he's careful not to knock it, which after having done that and coming close to tears that no one will getto know about other than Pikachu, Red's being very careful about.
It makes it easy at least for him to see the people that pass by the door, and so his eyes - being awake when Jean wanders in - settle on the person rather quickly, though he doesn't expect conversation to start. The voice isn't familiar in his ears, though he can guess the sound of someone being sick.
But what happened to him? ]
Fell down a hole... [ It may stupid, but it's simple enough than going into details the guy likely doesn't care that much for.
But let him take a guess about that heavy voice and the rather red nose the guy is sporting. ] Are you sick?
[Red wasn't really much of a farmer. Despite that, he's always willing to learn! Plus, what else is there to really do around here in the past? The idea of affecting the future in some way does weird him out a little bit, but farming shouldn't really mess with that too much.
... Right?
Either way, Red was found with his vest off, down to his black, sleeveless shirt and his gloves in his pocket, replaced with a pair of working gloves. He doesn't want to ruin the electricity resistant ones, anyway. Waving to the familiar face, he smiles.]
Heya! You need help with any of this?
[He asks, surveying the field for what to actually do here. What's up, little dude?]
[ gonna screw up so badly mods are gonna tell us off.
Head perking up and-- oh, look, that other guy decided to join. Red had started visiting between the two farms rather early into their arrival to the past, never one to keep still - and with the barrier smaller and no battle dome, what else was there going to do to?
He's got a pair of gloves on himself, though not his fingerless pair, and his whole team is out, with Venusaur's vines stretched out and wiggling around her flower. ]
Umm. [ why was he being asked? Well. ] We can do with the help, yeah. You can ask [ he looks, and then points over to a group ] that woman over there what to do. The one wearing the green jacket.
[ He lowers his arm. ] But we're going to break up some ground and take out the weeds so it can be used later on.
((She's been all around Luceti for the past couple days, which is just exciting and amazing and she loves it already. Today starts out as just another opportunity to explore, but the showers that start around midday don't make for a conducive exploring environment. She ducks inside the nearest store, taking off her damp hat and shaking her hair out, before seeing who else is in the store.))
Red! ((Dramatic pointing time.)) I need to talk to you!
(( He'd just gotten done speaking to one of the people at the store, handing over some of the tinned goods he brought via Snorlax Bagpack. A transaction that the pokémon wasn't going to be happy over, but that's why we're not going to be telling him it happened.
Pikachu perks up from his perch on the boy's shoulder, and the boy himself turns his head when he hears his name, his expressions going from 'huh - oh no - oh no - wait be cool' in a span of a few seconds. But he won't run!!! He turns the rest of his body, holding a bag in his hand. ))
That alone doesn't mean people are going to be bumping into every familiar face all the time, but it's more likely, and for some reason - though Red didn't want to meet the guy - there was always the type of frame, a mass of black that makes him question the identity of a person as him. It's not being jumpy, nothing like that; it's just unusual (and nobody else had a reason to look both shady and like they're hiding, weirdo), the type of unusual that is the "just a Trainer" Giovanni.
But it's not Red who sees him first, nor who allows himself to be noticed, a small thump as he lands on top of a crate, facing the man. ]
Piii.
[ Were you just minding your own business, Giovanni? Surely you were. Hope you don't mind the company, though said company doesn't have the pleased gracious expression on. Somebody ate a rawst berry for breakfast. ]
[It's a smaller enclosure and Giovanni is at the stage where he is downright irritated by it.
Apparently the changes in this place have a few more side effects than he originally expected, making digging away or attempting to crack through the barrier completely futile. He never spent much time in the village in the first place, and now he has to remain around or near it with a fraction of the technology. Stone age sounds like an appropriate title right now.
And it's so stone-age era that even basic necessities like tobacco is out of the picture. He burned through his last pack two days ago and it hasn't been going well for him since then. The most he can do is stay out of the main streets and wait this over, hopefully without any...certain encounters that individuals who decided to show up.
Naturally, the arrival of that creature is just an extra thorn in his side. It's even worse that battling is all but useless on both their ends - thankfully he's not desperate enough to resort himself to something as mundane as farming.
He stops and faces Pikachu, brow furrowing. If the rat has something to say, he better say it now.]
[It took Saori a day or two to really get over her anger at herself, for the most recent incident. Being disrespected by a student was not something that was ever easy for her to deal with, and for two of them to do so for the sake of fighting one another was extremely distressing. Was she really that poor a tutor? Was she not teaching them the proper way? Vegeta may have been a pigheaded student, but he had more years to get set in his ways, so it was more excusable. Not much more, but enough that it wasn’t making her question her methods and get him back in more petty ways, just to needle him as he’d needled her.
Red, though, disobeying her and claiming that she’d wanted him to fight the man all along? That was about as acceptable as a kappa in the soup, and she hated kappa.
Finding the boy wasn’t hard, she just slipped after him as he went off to train in the woods. The lesson she’d promised was going to be coming today, and the delivery would probably not go over well. But it had to be done.
It starts as nothing more than a rustling in the trees, but the wind picks up all around Red, blowing dead leaves up around him. The little whirlwind did two things. First? It snatched away his Pokeballs, knocking them off his belt and away, visible up against a tree. And the second? It took his hat, hanging it up well out of reach. She didn’t reveal herself just yet, though. She figured it would be best to wait and gauge a reaction.]
[ He wasn't happy with how things had resulted that day with Saori. He didn't know disagreeing with her would cause an outcome like this, and the fact that he couldn't exactly talk to her put him at an unease.
Of course he would keep training and go about his day helping out around the village, but he wasn't in much of a jolly or fun mood as his usual levels might've been. He had no clue how to make it better, especially after the expression he had seen thrown his way before she had departed. If it continued to stay like this, then he'd have to ask Helios.
But for this day, it seemed a little early - people needed time to themselves, didn't they? And Red went for training out in the forest. He could work with his team, and he wasn't particularly paying attention to much when the mischief happened. His first reaction puts an arm up in front of his face with the leaves and wind throwing around him, but when he catches the glimpse of his pokémon's balls away from him - his hat too but that's less of a concern - Red readies his staff and tucks the arm above his head that he swings sharply this way and that to try and search out for who it could be around him.
Pikachu tightens his grip onto Red's clothing, face darkening and his ears listening out around them. Someone was playing with them, taking his hat, taking his pokéballs; of course Red wonders why not the staff as well, and of course he wonders if it's Saori, being a god with such possible powers. But- ]
Who's there? [ His voice is curt and loud, to be clear and heard over the wind and the crinkling leaves. ] What do you want.
[ It could be anyone in this enclosure, just looking to have a little fun on a target they'd found. But Red didn't find taking his pokémon away from him as fun. ]
[Things have been rather interesting lately. It all feels like it's coming together somehow, and events are falling into perfect place in his favor, just as they did all those years ago when he was on top of the world. Now's his time to reclaim that title - with a little extra firepower.
His hand brushes over his coat, feeling six pokeballs stashed away on his belt. They were oddly convenient to run into, though probably not surprising considering how unstable the land here seems now. He'll just take it as a sign that the second rising of his Team is over the horizon.
But first, he needs to take care of a few annoying obstacles, starting with the biggest one first.]
He took trips down the mountain, but they were supply runs, check-ups, and never aything more. At most he would be down for a day or two, maybe another if the nurse wanted to on the health of his pokémon (Venusaur's plant, Charizard's fire, and Snorlax's weight were the major concerns). But after that they would go back; Red wasn't sure if at some point it just became automatic on his part to.
Luceti was chilly at least.
Unlike back home, Red isn't hard to find here. He has yet to go far from the village itself, a jet lag in his mind that's been there for a couple of years when it comes to exploring, though he's already given the opportunity for Charizard to spread her wings over the skies, and for Blastoise and Lapras dive into water.
Today they're somewhere outside the barrier, where the forest ends and the plains begin. Red, Pikachu, and Espeon are at least, as is usual, the two listening and detecting trouble. It doesn't seem necessary in Luceti, the world lacking in the same wild monsters that Mt. Silver wasn't. The landscape was apparently as unpredictable as the weather of the mountain could be, sure, but actually --
they had a guest following them for a while. A certain guest who had yet to say hello.
Hopefully they'll feel more inclined to now in their quiet location. ]

research associate mission thing(s?) - 9/8 to 9/12
[She's comfortable here among the library's books and data cataloging, but... a boy Red's age? She couldn't imagine any of her guy friends - well, Senior Green might be an exception - wanting to spend their week doing busy work.
It's probably one of the easiest missions to do though, so she can't blame him. It's a nice change of pace too. The enclosure's library was pretty nice, but it's got nothing on the Malnosso's Central Library -- now that she's here to appreciate it.
And it feels a lot like home, in some weird way. Home without being home. She could live with that.]
(likely 9/8 to 9/13 for 10 points okok)

[September 26th - action]
[September 26th - action]
It makes it easy at least for him to see the people that pass by the door, and so his eyes - being awake when Jean wanders in - settle on the person rather quickly, though he doesn't expect conversation to start. The voice isn't familiar in his ears, though he can guess the sound of someone being sick.
But what happened to him? ]
Fell down a hole... [ It may stupid, but it's simple enough than going into details the guy likely doesn't care that much for.
But let him take a guess about that heavy voice and the rather red nose the guy is sporting. ] Are you sick?

anytime during the event!
What's up, little dude?]
no
Head perking up and-- oh, look, that other guy decided to join.

10/15 - Leaf becoming friends w/ Red properly (it's gonna happen!!!!)
Red! ((Dramatic pointing time.)) I need to talk to you!
10/15 - no
Pikachu perks up from his perch on the boy's shoulder, and the boy himself turns his head when he hears his name, his expressions going from 'huh - oh no - oh no - wait be cool' in a span of a few seconds. But he won't run!!! He turns the rest of his body, holding a bag in his hand. ))
What?
(( Should he be concerned? ))

[ a day in october with our pal Giovanni (hotboss) ]

Yoloswaggins
She figured it would be best to wait and gauge a reaction.]
swag swag
